You're right, The Lockers were responsible for making Locking famous, but even deeper is the fact that Toni Basil was the one who had the California Hollywood connections needed to bring the Lockers to fame. She is also one of the Original Lockers. I myself have been locking since 1971 when I first saw guys doing the Scooby-Walk on SoulTrain.

Everyone was incredible AND FUNKY here but I preferred GoGo's cleaner look and feel. Had more of the original essence in what they threw down. Definitely an amazing level of execution by all. Awesome!

their locking styles are different but I have to say the first locker from gogo brothers with the white shirt is sick!

I know old video. But gogo brothers owned them. Rei did a back flip and landed on his F*cking knee caps! Bloody hell!

The go-go brothers won, its their original style, the new era of lockers including myself have to work VERY VERY hard for it to look like the real ORIGINAL thing! So in my opinion the GGB won it as its old-skool and sick! Peace.

Definitely agreed on the waiting part. His musicality was good though, if he'd waited, he may have racked up at least some respect 'points'... or locks... or scoo b doos lol jp

Definitely a heated battle. Though I think P-Lock should have grabbed this one. I just think maybe it was because of potential Japanese bias that the Gogo bros took this one... not sure, but just my speculation

both groups showed a good display of lokcing talent, but the go go brothers brouth a little bit more than Plock and J Soul that night. Very good go go bro's. Going out on a limb, but does anyone know of any locking communities in San Diego?

OK, call me crazy but does the Gogo Bro's style in this vid somewhat similar to H&B style -- the fast movements and somewhat powerful routine? Definitely different than the smooth and funky style of them in '06 and onward. I'm thinking maybe this is where H&B got their style from?

P lock has the strangest ,Which a way, I have ever seen, I think that is one of his worse moves. And the last time I saw a Jimmy Soul was as a locking judge and when he did his exhibition locking before the battles, he came out moved around alittle and did absolutely no locking what so ever. I was very disappointed. This brings me to Sugar Pop with the Electric Boogaloos, who does it all, locks, pops, etc. , if he is invited to judge somewhere, I heard that he will not judge along side other judges unless they really know their stuff, and has put in their dues to be qualified to judge. As far as I know he is the only one I have heard that believes in this. He is not just in it for the money, and I have viewed battles that have had judges I have never heard of before, so I commend him in holding higher standards, and being serious enough to want the best for these dancers going up to show their skills and battle knowing the judges up there will be professionals and know their trade, giving both sides fair accessment.

Both sides were amazing, but J.Soul needs to show some more respect and stop jumping in. He reminds me of what O2 kept doing to H&B in one of their battles. Dancers who jump in before their turn are just trying to compensate, which makes sense cuz J.Soul was def the weakest of the four.

scape5 denisjay2002 is right. and hes just explaining things which is very much true. yeah he did mess up when he said that Tony Gogo created locking but im pretty sure he meant that he helped create locking and make the scene go as far as it did. so yeah u should shut up cuz u had no arguement in this. I am just someone thats trying to clear something up for ya.
