This is exactly the bag I needed. Going from Sweden to USA for a roadtrip for 5 weeks, heard about the epidemic of car-break ins and realise we do not want to leave the bags ever in the car, but then we need a bag we can put on our back. Also a normal backpack has too many straps everywhere that can get damaged or get stuck when being checked in on airplane. This is perfect for this. Good price too. When I backpack I actually want something smaller, closer to 50L as I like to go more lightweight, so for that I use another bag anyway.

let´s say you are about to carry 70 l of stuff on your back for whole day. is the harness comfortable enough? they don´t seem to have enough padding for a long trip with heavy bag...
@Enwild
5 жыл бұрын
The maximum weight Osprey lists for the pack is 50 lbs. You can certainly carry that much, but doing so for a whole day would likely be exhausting. The Farpoint's hip belt will do most of the work transferring the pack's weight to your lower body, so it's definitely capable of carrying heavier loads. Just keep in mind 70L of stuff could mean wildly different weights depending on how you define "stuff". Thanks for watching!
@MSephirroth

@@Enwild thanks for answer, surely, the weight varies, I was just wondering about it because the belts on the shoulders seem much less padded as the belts on majority of other hiking backpacks. everything else seem great for my needs, I was just worried if the belts are not getting too much into shoulders of the wearer after some time.
@Enwild

Not necessarily... the 80L pack doesn't include a detachable daypack. If you want that little pack for extra storage or a more versatile pack, the 70L would probably be better. If you plan to have your main luggage with you all day every day, the 80L is probably the better bet.

Hi Twan! I hate to tell you this, but the Farpoint is definitely geared more toward travel. It does have a frame and hip belt, so it will transfer load weight but will likely not prove as comfortable or supportive as a typical internal frame backpacking pack. Anyone can help me out with carry-on explanation? (talking about this bag in 55 or 40l version) I see that these kind of bags can be carry on but then i wonder how to do this. People take camera's, swiss knifes, liquids (for lenzes, creams..), cameras,... In short all items you cant take on a plane or that excesses the weight of carry on (7/10/14kg), how is this possible? And then there's this personal luggage and carry on. Is this 10kg together or seperate? And for last, what are the extra costs if the airport doesn't allow your bag as carry on? Would help me a lot, thanks!
@Enwild
6 жыл бұрын
The standard carry-on size is 22 inches high x 9 inches deep x 14 inches wide - these are external dimensions, including wheels and the handle if applicable. Airlines can differ from what they will allow as a carry on bag. A carry on bag must fit in the overhead compartment on your flight. Some airlines allow a personal item as well as a carry-on. The personal item is typically anything that will fit completely underneath of the seat in front of you. The extra cost for baggage will vary greatly between airlines. Since airlines will differ in their standards, you will need to check with your specific airline to know the type of baggage, the weight, the size, and the types of items that can be carried onto the flight.
