Footage from last weekend's OstFecht tournament. Some nice exchanges in there. One trick I'm especially happy with is the aussere mynne (a variation on the outside doubling with a slice) in the final match with Martin Tibensky at 12:39. Otherwise I was trying to work more on defense, parrying and predicting as much as I can and other things. Of course not everything goes like planned everytime :) Enjoy

What kind of longswords do you guys use in those tournaments? I can't tell if ya'll are using light blades or if you're just super fast.

Hello, all the kinds of regular as people in any other tournaments :) The average weight would be somewhere between 1.6-1.7kg

Holy sir, you are getting stronger with each tournament! It is great to see your variety of techniques and style according to different opponent. Remarkable thrusts, quick and lethal as always( you are realy good at them, im super jealous '_' ) It is very inspiring to see & feel such a competetive mood you are in! Keep it up man, and enjoy the victory you rightfully deserved!

The most satisfying win against that red shoes, don't like how he lunges and sniped, his suicide attacks didn't pay off!

mikajlod25 Since when was lunging and sniping a bad thing? Lunging is historical, and sniping is safe.

@@thestuffmonster9856 if you rely on that then you are not a truly skillful fencer. If that's the only way you can win, you are no match to your opponent.

mikajlod25 That’s true, though specific actions such as lunging and sniping shouldn’t be treated as inherently bad

@@mikajlod25 If it is working against the opponent, it isn't bad. It's winning. If it's the only thing you're practicing... that's also bad. It's all about finding the strategy to beat your opponent. Nothing more.
