It is probably a result of the fact that they have been around for so long on KZitem. The Plinkett reviews were somewhat of a big deal back in the early days of the internet. Those videos have quite a few views, even by today's standards. So, even though they are not really big now, they have always been an integral part of internet culture and kept consistency (unlike some older creators, e.g. Nostalgia Critic).

I think the best way to describe RLM’s format is they’re just a group of film snobs who all happen to be longtime buddies, sitting down together talking about stuff they like as if they’re in some random bar chilling and a video camera just happens to be there recording them talking for sum reason. GamerfromMars is an idiot. They absolutely HAVE mixed up their content. That's why the channel is so watchable. Everyone wanted more Plinkett reviews after the Star Wars prequel reviews (probably not even realizing that they had already done Star Trek reviews before, and other reviews after, like the hilarious "Baby's Day Out") and gave them shit when they introduced Half in the Bag. Then when everyone loved HitB, they started doing Best of the Worst, and people shit on that. They've consistently been adding to the variety of ways in which they provide their content, including Wheel of the Worst, Plinketto, Black Spine Jenga, etc. It's to the point where the content they create around the stuff they talk about is just as funny as them talking about the stuff. I'm just saying, they've done a far better job of evolving their content over time than most channels ever do, and they do it well ahead of the curve, enough that people usually complain about it when they do. But it keeps the channel fresh while still giving viewers a lot of what they already love.
