Renowned for his unorthodox style and distinct sound, Otis Rush took the audience of the 2001 Chicago Blues Festival on a haunting journey with this powerful rendition of “So Many Roads So Many Trains”. Penned by Paul Marshall, Rush was the original artist to record that now-classic number which was released back in 1960 with “I’m Satisfied” as the B-side.

Excuse me. Am I late to the brawl? Mr. Rush paid his dues for a 2 lifetimes. He doesn´t play the blues, he IS the blues. Please check yourself before any disrespectful comments are launched.

Yes sir! Paying your dues is what makes a “Bluesman” because the blues is not music, it’s a feeling like no other genre of music can replicate, except maybe blues/rock.

Yeah, Otis was one of the best, and with a tendency to play behind the beat. And a formidable tension and release player. On an old Delmark LP, "So Many Roads, Live in Concert", there's another one of Otis' blistering takes of "So Many Roads". Recorded in Japan, July 1975.

So you just play in the basement? And you put down Rush? There is no accounting for taste but Otis Rush has more soul in 1 note than most guitarists have in a 1000. You show your inexperience/appreciation of what " Blues" is all about. It's NOT about how many notes you play or being perfectly in tune! Not sure what your definition of "good" is but it isn't what someone that knows Blues is. Sorry if you think I'm "bothering" you but when you offer an opinion back it up with knowledge.

Hey, "zythesparin" let Otis be Otis. He's entertained people for years. If you don't care for his playing ability that's fine. I'm sure you play a fine guitar but there will always be people who won't appreciate your sound also. Not to say you can't play it's just that people will always have different taste for different genres of music. I don't mock any musician even if he or she is not to my liking.
@AGW7337

Actually, right handers got it wrong. The guys that made up guitar 500 years ago was what we now call dyslexic! Why would anybody in his right mind put bass on top and treble on the bottom? That defies the laws of physics. It's also completely in reverse of how the staff is written. No, Otis Rush has it exactly right!

Why then don't you put up some of your music? I mean you omust have some recorded music right? Any label sign you up as an artist? Which one? Let us know please. You talk big but like all the "gunslinger" guitar players out there you just don't get it. To you music is competition because probably you lack size in another part of you.
