I have the defender for my 6. Couple immediate complaints. The flimsy plastic that covers the home button looks like a cheap wrapper. I removed it. Second, the built in screen protector on mine felt terrible. Made typing a huge hassle and feels like a cheap thick plastic cover. I also removed this and applied a normal screen protector from tech armor. Vastly improved.

I had an Otterbox Defender for my iPhone 5 and absolutely loved it. Sure, it's bulky and the edge bezel is a bit big, but when you're talking about protecting an expensive piece of hardware it's an easy thing to cope with. I've never been bothered about how my phone looks so this case will be my next purchase. Plus, with how this case looks people might be less likely to rob someone of their phone. I mean, it doesn't end up looking like an iPhone once all the layers are in place. You could even block the apple logo if you wanted!

Theses are one of the most expensive covers on the market and guess what, they wear out very quickly! I bought one last September for my 6 and the outer rubber has stretched and now I feel I wasted my money. I’ve often put a €5 case on a phone and it listed twice as long! After 10 months am I entitled to claim under warranty? The plastic screen protector on this and soft clear plastic ‘cling film’ is pretty poor too and dust sticks to the backside of the adhesive. A very bad design. I wish I could selling a crap product for €50 a pop like Otterbox seem to do!

I took my iPhone 6 into a phone repair place, and they tore the front plastic off of the otterbox, and put a glass sheet onto the screen, and what a difference. I love that it makes the phone super secure, but I hate that the case makes it hard to swipe from the sides to go back/forth, the top down to access Notification Center, and the bottom up to enter Control Center. I used one on the 5S, and it was very hard to Dana of the swiping. My iPhone 6 currently just has a back cover. It's not as secure, but much easier to use.

THIS CASE SAVED MY PHONE FROM A TOILET DROP AND IMO THAT IS WORTH THE FEW ANNOYANCES. The only thing I hate about these cases is my OCD kicks in when I get my phone in the case and I notice a piece of dust under the screen protector. It took me multiple tries and tape to get that thing dust free. Lol. The tapping sound the screen protector makes is annoying at first but the touch screen works almost as well. I have to use slightly more force. I did notice the tapping got better after a few days, almost as if it takes time for the screen protector set in. The Touch ID membrane works better than I thought but not as responsive as without it. I don't mind the indented bezel and it's actually nice when playing some games as your fingers do not slide off the screen. Now, all of these flaws have been forgiven once I dropped my phone in the toilet. Although this case is not water proof and my phone did get slightly wet (especially the speaker and mic since obviously they're not covered by the case) - this case did save my phone and even the speaker and mic still works and I don't think anything got damaged. I immediately dried out the inside of the port and jack with the full end of a toothpick wrapped in paper towel. I was very pleasantly surprised to know this case saved my 2 month old 6s. I'm actually thinking of getting an official waterproof case because I want to keep this 6s forever as it's the last iPhone with a audio jack but just know this case can save your phone from water drops. And yes, I thoroughly washed the case and wiped the phone with alcohol swabs after it was dry. I'm not complete human trash, just part.

By the way, don't EVER buy a Lifeproof case for your phone. I had one for my iPhone 4S and the way it's designed it presses down constantly on the sleep/wake button. It broke my sleep/wake button. I bought one of these things for my iphone 4 and it's outlasted earthquakes, car accidents, fire, and the lives of 3 phones after that. You could go to war with an Otterbox and your phone would come out in better condition than 99% of the soldiers. Edit: People with this phone never ever miss calls or notifications. They are all business all the time. The recessed mute switch just makes your life easier, does away with unnecessary toggles.

I don’t like Otterbox cases. It steal the elegance of the Iphone. Is too thick and the rubber gets worn out. If I want to ruin my Iphone 6S Plus with a cover I would just buy a nokia and be safe to throw it. It makes no sense to just ruin the shape of the phone just to protect it. Also, if you need a big case like that the you should not bring your phone to that place. I prefer 1,000 times ESR cases, are stylish and offer a great protection. Ive trow with ESR case in 50Ft high and everything good.

If anyone has a problem with bubbling on the built-in screen, a secret trick I learned was to take one of your fingers, and rub the otterbox screen up and down. The natural oils from your hands will let the screen "stick" to the other surface much easier, and no, you won't see any streaks. Just a trick. Do as you wish with that, of course. :-)

go with the symmetry and a glass screen protector. you'll like it way more. this case for some reason sucked. i've had good luck with defenders in the past but this one really screwed up how the touch screen worked. i had to mash on the screen pretty hard for anything to work. there was a decent gap i could feel between the screen and plastic window when i pressed down. it was at least 0.025" which for a touch screen is really bad. it needs to be a 1:1 fit. the side buttons work great with the symmetry and with the glass screen protector, it feels so silky smooth compared to the plastic on the defender. there are a lot of reviewers out there that do all three, the defender, commuter, and symmetry and i don't think i've seen one not pick the symmetry. best otterbox case i've owned.

I love this case but like with my iPhone 5 version the screen cover and the button cover has to come off. unless you really really really want to protect that screen. I dropped my five version about 10 times and it's perfect. I don't worry too much about the screen as it's not going to be directly in contact with anything sharp. If it's anything like the five version that screen cover will just peel right off.

excellent pro level review borg , to the point - informative - well spoken . but i disagree about this defender so many like . 1 - i dont see it has the hefty rugged case that many do , this might be super duty for a beautician but for a working man type this things fragile despite all the hype . 2 - at the bottom of screen the rubber peice that runs below screen is too damn thin , destined to quickly wear out / tear . and just this on peice of the rubber cover makes this a quickly disposable item . and if it werent a bad enough problem theyve put the charging port right below this thin peice causing it to have to see lots of use . its another seriously flaweed design by washed up people in a declining kingdom in which the people at the top of the ruling class such as insane liberals gotta go or were history !
