Check out, Mountain Valley RV resort in Heaber Utah. It’s an incredible place to stay! Amazing amenities, pool, hot tub, laundry, pickleball, dog park… they also have an all adult section with its own amenities. We stay there every summer with our kids and grandkids. They also have little cabins you can rent as well. Places that are close are, all the 2002 Olympic venues. Park City, fishing, hiking and tons of places to 4x4. Our favorite times to stay there are June through September. This year we will be there July 11-15. Also, there are incredible restaurants within minutes of the campground and a major airport if you need to fly anyone in for the weekend (SLC).

Mackinaw Mill Creek Campground is amazing! It's located just outside of Mackinaw City, is huge, but nearly every spot feels very private with large trees! We stayed not far from their event barn, but we spent a lot of time on the e-bikes riding all over campground which has private beaches right on Lake Huron with views of the Mighty Mackinaw bridge! They must have a couple miles of shoreline! There is also a beautifully maintained bike/hike trail system that is just across the road from the campground that you can ride/walk for miles! Oh, and you are just a few minutes from the ferry to Mackinac Island (spelled differently, but pronounced the same). The Upper Penninsula (UP) of Michigan is also just a short trip over the Mighty Mac bridge. (The UP is amazingly beautiful with lots of waterfalls & views of Lakes Michigan, Huron and Superior! (If you go to the UP, be sure to take the Pictured Rocks sunset cruise out of Munising to see the beauty of the colored cliffs of Pictured Rocks National Lakeshore (part of the NPS).

@RVUntethered we also camped at Indigo Bluffs RV Park & Resort. We only spent 2 nights there while checking out Sleeping Bear National Lakeshore, and it's not too far (30 minutes?) from Traverse City. We'd love to go back & see more of the Traverse City area, which we only drove through. But Indigo Bluffs was nice! Very wooded, and had some nice amenities. They have seasonal campers, but it was a nice area.

Great video folks and thanks for the information on those campgrounds. We avoid KOA's for multi day stays but do use them for overnight stops because they are usually close to the highway for easy off and on. We found a gem in Newland NC, Mountain River Family Campground. Hope you find some more little gems in 2024! Safe travels.

COE always made us nervous, just like state parks, but we quickly realized that it was because the campgrounds from our state are older (smaller and harder to navigate). We have learned that we shouldn’t write them off. Do you have a good resource that you use to find a good COE site?
@kelleyramsey2642

RECREATION.GOV I just put in an area we want to go then look for parks. There are ratings on sites. We have a 40 foot motorhome plus a jeep. We haven't had any issues getting in and out of parks except Lake Ouachita near Mt. Ida, AR

Dark Sky’s is fantastic, stayed there last spring. We splurged and rented one of their Roxor jeeps for a day, what a blast. There is a great book that lists all of the COE parks in the country, great resource. We find most COE parks are spacious for all size RVs. Most are water and electric only but do have dump stations.

We found the sites a bit tight but otherwise loved it there. We have a Harvest Host membership and have not ever used it yet! Maybe this year. We just signed up for the KOA membership and are hoping the discounts pay off. We re jsut getting started o this adventure so all advice is welcome. Thanks for sharing the video!

Thanks so much for joining us! ☺️ Rustic Barn was such a pleasant little surprise! We DO like Harvest Host, but the timing of what days we can travel, has been tricky. If that isn’t a factor, we figured that it paid for itself (for us and our travel pattern), in about 4 campsites. Hopefully you enjoy it!

We were so hoping the Poconos would make the cut lol. The total cost is actually much lower than I would he guessed, would love to know what the fuel cost was in addition to the campground fees. We LOVED the campground that we used in PA, but we weren’t a huge fan of the campground itself. The amenities weren’t great or were broken and they had a lot of full timers that had stray cats that ran around and sat in your chairs! 😂 We didn’t track our fuel costs, but we do have some rough numbers of mileage (towing and empty) where we could provide a general cost. We’ll try to pop this in an upcoming video for you!

I agree about the KOA campgrounds I liked staying at them sence we started camping. But with the cost for a site we have found other campground that are cheaper and more fun. I liked the video and the places in Texas. We have Family that live in Bowie is there any good one close to there.
@RVUntethered

It looks like there are a handful of option in that area, but we haven’t been through Bowie. The closest reference that we would have is Horseshoe Acres RV Park in Ardmore, OK (an hr and 20 from Bowie and super cheap and easy). Also Cowtown RV Park in Dallas (an hr and 15 from Bowie). We just wouldn’t recommend the KOA in Weatherford! We didn’t film it, but we were ready to leave! Safe travels! horseshoeacresrv.com/ cowtownrvpark.com
