31:16 I completely agree with Garnt. My girlfriend has barely watched any movies, series, anime etc; especially the classic ones. There is no reasoning behind it, she simply didn't get around to watching stuff as before we started dating she'd rather just play videogames. The last two years have been a blast because I get to rewatch stuff like Breaking Bad, Hxh 2011, Fma , The gladiator, The Godfather, Spice and Wolf, a bunch of ghibli movies, and lots of other stuff with someone who has never seen them. Seeing someone react to a piece of media for the very first time almost makes you feel like you're seeing it for the first time.

@Allschmoi
11 ай бұрын
This is completly depending on ones perspective. My girlfriend for over 7 years usually takes even less time to get ready then me. There are exceptions of course, like when we go out for special occassions. But usually she only apllies a little bit of make up since she preferes a more natural look and for her hair she also doesn't do anything special like a straigthening iron or a curly thing. So I would argue that 30 minutes are not indeed super quick. They can be, depending on the person and the circumstances. But in my case I take longer doing my hair and choosing clothes than my partner. 😂

totally agree. i've got long hair and it takes around 15 mins to brush it and make it into a braid, so there's just 15 mins left for makeup and choosing clothes, which is not much. i usually ask for an hour to get ready if there's no rush and i thought that's a normal thing, my husband doesn't care that much either. i found it puzzling that some people think 30 mins is a long time to get ready.

With the phone passcode one: My girlfriend and I know each other's passcodes, but we've been together for nearly four years, and living together for three. At this point, there are times where it's just more efficient to know. Like if she's driving and the song she wants to play is on her phone, we're not going to stop the car so that she can open her phone and change the music, that'd just be dumb. Or if I get a text but I'm away from my phone, like I'm in the shower for example, she reads the message out for me and I ask her to respond with what I say, or if it's a person in our friend group, sometimes I ask her to just respond with whatever she thinks I'd respond with lol. I trust her completely to be able to respect when something could be crossing my boundaries, or pushing past my privacy. But (and that's a BIG but), we weren't at this stage until nearly a year into living together. We both had talked about our privacy and boundaries quite extensively beforehand, and mutually agreed that we whole-heartedly trusted each other to respect the other person's privacy. Us asking for the passcode is a trivial thing at this point because we've been together for this long, and because we CAN have so much evidential trust in each other. If we were dating for only like a month, and she started desperately needing to know my passcode, that would be an obvious massive red-flag, and would be an easy sign of trust issues.
@MysticCat21
11 ай бұрын
yeah, i was going to say, i don't mind a partner asking for my passcode, because it makes things more convenient at times. Just like you said it can be faster for stuff like music or messaging, but also when one person has a better phone camera than the other, or any other situation that can happen in a relationship. BUT if i catch my partner snooping around my phone that's an instant red flag. The actual asking of passcode depends on her intentions (asking cuz trust issues or truly because she thinks it's more convenient), but the act of snooping would be a dealbreaker for me
@zacharytylerhixson

This, my girlfriend and I have been together for almost 5 years, living together for 3. We both have trust and know each other's pass codes, but we also both agree not to go snooping. The efficiency thing is basically the same boat for us as well.

Couldn't relate more, My boyfriend and I have been together for 4 years and its really just for conveniency that we know eachother's passwords, luckily for him my memory is bad bc of some previous health issues i've had so I forget it pretty quickly. like the song thing is SO SPOT ON, I used that one a couple days ago bc I had to drive my boyfriend and I to his hometown bc he forgot his license, and I wanted to listen to my music to keep myself awake (it was VERY early) so I just gave him my phone and was like "can you play my playlist?" and he just opens my phone and puts it on. but yeah if my partner that i've only been together with for a little over a year just randomly comes up to me and is like "can I get your password?" then I comepletely understand where the boys are comming from. to me its all about context and scenarios here.

I think giving your partner access to your phone is a bit more nuanced. Like obviously if you've just started dating and they ask for you password because they want to snoop that's a red flag. That said, me and my partner of almost six years have access to each other's phones. This sorta happened naturally because someone needed to check something while their phone wasn't around, or one of us asked the other to send a message while the former was driving. Of course we don't randomly check each others messages, but we do know one anothers password. I think context is important here.
@Adamassmilk
10 ай бұрын
Oh yeah, I do agree. It happening naturally is fine. Personally for me the messages part is a big reason I’m against it. But obviously you’d hope to trust your partner wouldn’t look through your private messages. For the sake of the other person as well. If I found out my private messages with my friend were being accessed by their partner as well I’d feel a bit weird. Cause it’s my friend I’m having that conversation with, not them.

About keeps the relationship private: Depends on severity, but i would go rather for a red flag, because i saw something like that among my group of friends. It's not like we were work colleagues or acquaintances - most of us knew each other since we were kids, so I would like to think we were pretty close. Two members of said group started dating, but the guy wanted to keep it "private". It meant that when we were hanging out he wouldn't touch her, barely acknowledge her, no pictures together anywhere, they wouldn't go on vacation together (because he was going with his parents)... Basically, I only learnt they were together because she told me one day. I'm not saying you have to shout love confessions to each other, or plaster your kissy faces on billboards, but like, for me it looked like he was using her - and when i told her so, she said that "oh, he's just depressed and misunderstood and she can help him because he just gets her 🥺" 5 years later we (me & her) barely speak, but from what i heard she still lives alone, while he lives with his parents, but i think they are still together? i'm not saying being private is a bad thing, but there's being private, and there's "avoiding commitment"

Yeah. I do think they missed this context when Talking about it. It is one extreme case but it is also a valid case. Actively hiding that you are dating in front of everyone is not so mature of a behaviour. It leads to gossip and could potentially generate uncomfortable situations all around. It is kinda acceptable at maybe highschool levels and all but in a mature, adult relationship it does feel like a red flag

I wanna say, as a woman who likes to take my time getting ready to go out, and considering we have makeup and hair to do on top of getting dressed, 30 min is very short. I interpreted the "keeps the relationship private" differently. I answered"red flag", because in my personal experience, the girl I was dating last time seemed uncomfortable whenever ppl knew we were dating, to the point that one of our common friends (she was close to him more than I was close to him) didn't know we were in a relationship until after we broke up. I think keeping the relationship private as in not mentioning you as their partner is indeed a red flag.

I joined the military right after high school at 17 (turned 18 in basic), and did 5 years and stayed single. I did it because I did not want to risk getting trapped because someone either wants my benefits or some other reason. I basically did it to protect myself. There's 2 kinda of women in the military dating world: "ooooo you're in the army?" and "oh, you're in the army". Of course now I'm out, 24 and single and simply exist in college. It's not. I think the confusion comes from the fact you can't have specific flavors without any spiciness, such as the flavor that comes from chilies, so when making a non spicy version of something it won't taste the same. But spicy is just a reaction to the chemical capsaicin, not an actual flavour, that's why you can have foods that are spicy yet at the same time bland. It quite literally on a scientific level is not considered a taste, it's not a subjective matter. Spice can absolutely change the experience of consuming food and add to it, but so can texture and temperature, and they're not tastes.

If you are looking for a serious relationship then it is a very good thing to set expectations for how you want the relationship. If you want kids but your partner does not then it is important to know right off the bat. But if it is you sitting down on a first date and they start planning your marriage at the table that is a red flag.
