I agree. How a person puts it together and explains usually determines if I’m going to try the recipe. If the prep work and explanation is disjointed, cut with tangents, or not explained well….I don’t have the time or patience for that.

This is such a great compromise on technique! It makes it so much easier than the full blown cheffy versions, but it's still elevated. And I've never had dressing with egg in it, but it makes complete sense. I'm going to do a dry run of this with a whole chicken and see how the family likes it so they don't Marie Antoinette me on Thanksgiving 😁. Happy Fall 2023, everyone! 🧡🙏🕊🍂👻🎃🕷🍁🕸️🦃🥧

@@rebeccahall4961 that's brilliant! I've always wanted to marinate a turkey in buttermilk and buffalo sauce like i do for chicken, but that's just asking for a contamination catastrophe with a big ole slippery turkey. With sour cream (or yoghurt), it'll adhere and tenderize like a curry! 👏💚🙏🕊

Great to see the basics from the beginning-just what a newbie needs. :) I don’t trim the skin, I let it melt to make extra gravy. Salt & pepper. Stuff with fresh herbs - parsley sage rosemary thyme. And 1/4 onion. + a stick of butter. That way the dripping are flavored an all I need to do is bring all this dripping and stock to a boil and stir in a slurry of potato starch and cold stock. Super easy. 🍗

It always surprises le when "stuffing" is made outside the bird ! Shouldn't it be cooked inside the turkey just as the word "stuffing" means ? In France , for Christmas , we stuff our turkey or Capon too, and the stuffing in inside the bird, it soaks up the bird juices and it is absolutely delicious !!! My favourite is chestnut/liver/ apple stuffing...

We always put the herbed butter under the skin, but I’ve come to feel that the butter you slather all over the outside melts and drips off in the first 10 minutes, so you might as well just put on a thin layer. It doesn’t stay there anyways. I even think olive oil works well on the outside.

At which point does the stuffing become stuffing? Your sage and onion stuffing should be stuffed into the turkey. Once you get it to the level where you just put it in the baking dish, put it in the turkey!!! Not only does the stuffing take on the flavour of the turkey from turkey juices but a nice moist stuffing will help turkey retain moisture and the sage flavour infuses into the turkey. What you're making is not stuffing, it is a baked side dish.

Since he has been on that, I've noticed he's been scratching his ears and licking his paws. I did buy garlic oil for his ears, really bad infection. I've done this diet b4 and I feel like its helped a lot but i just wonder how long can he be on it? Thank you!
