Hi! Just a little history trivia! That house that has the secret tunnel was mist likely used during the Cristiada war “La guerra de los Cristeros”. The government was trying to cancel the Church and the population started these tunnels that ran through Churches. This was to safeguard the priests (that were being massacred ) and the Church’s treasures. There is a pretty good movie out there with the story! FOR THE GREATER GLORY. With Andy Garcia and Eva Longoria!

In Mexico people go to their local Mercado (Food Market) to buy the groceries they need just for that day as opposed to the U.S. where you buy groceries for the whole week. One reason being is that refrigerators in Mexico are smaller and they want to keep their electric bill down. Life in Mexico is not monotonous, routinely and fast paced like in the U.S. That's why life is less stressful. In Mexico Christmas is centered on Jesus Christ's birthday and on family gatherings, whereas in the U.S. Christmas is centered on materialistic gifts.
@nwinburn

Dude, refrigerators in Mexico are the same size as refrigerators in the US - hahaha! And people go to grocery stores like Walmart more often than the mercado. I know that because I've been living in Mexico for over 10 years.

It's a proven fact that urban centers get hotter than the countryside around them. It's the concrete and asphalt, buildings and open spaces that retain and magnify the heat. I used to live in Tacoma Wa. When it was 95F in the city you could go to a place called Pt Defiance Park. In its forest it was 75F easily.

Okay. I was wondering if a US store like a Sam's Club would be cheaper. I had always thought the US stores, Sam's. Costco or Walmart would be higher. But you can do almost all your shopping in one trip. Buy clothes, food, car tires, jewelry and electronics all in one stop. Yes. Playlands have vanished from most of the McDs in the US. There are handful of them around the US. You can try out the aquarium they have in Guadalajara the next time you're out there.

I would say that it is the same maybe more in the states. Our oldest son wanted to see how it all went; so he tried getting a costco card because his friend worked there and we did a trial run that day and none of us liked how much everything was, for example it all looked great, but it didn't taste good if that makes sense? That was just a food reference but overall in general. Our son returned his membership card and it was a lesson learned for him since he lives on his own now.
