I’m black and from southern Louisiana I’ve always wanted to see how other ppl do thanksgiving. Yes, Black people automatically do Thanksgiving differently, but Louisiana people we add stuff like different dishes that regardless of race is in every single household like stuffed peppers but you don’t see that in other parts of the country we don’t make mashed potatoes for Thanksgiving in Louisiana, or corn but of course, because that was part of the first Thanksgiving it’s kind of like a traditional meal, but we don’t do that in Southern Louisiana so it’s always interesting to see how the rest of the country makes Thanksgiving dinner because our Thanksgiving here are so unique.

For future reference, Whole Foods sells a very nice butter-based frozen pie crust; it’s their house brand. ETA: I may have misspoken; I went and took a peek online to look at the Whole Foods “home style pie shells” (that’s what they were called), but I can’t find them. Maybe they stopped selling them? I hope not; they were my favorite option for years!

My Dad told me that when he was growing up in New Jersey, he was responsible for wrapping the apples from their apple trees, individually in newspaper, in the Fall, and they would store the apples in the stone shed in the back yard. My Babcia's (Grandmother) friends would come over before Christmas and they would make many apple pies for everyone for Christmas.
