This song gives me chills and goosebumps right from the very first word and note. I remember when my aunt quit smoking because she had a stroke (at age 63). her and I always had this special connection but she was always very cold and "selfish". She believed that she had the stroke from smoking but also from keeping her heart closed for all these years. I remember when she walked into my new apartment after her stroke and this song was playing, she started crying. This song means a a lot.

Always liked this song...then and now. Very evocative and sentimental. Makes me remember how important our relationships are and how the so-called little things matter and how we should enjoy them while we still have them. Alas those we thought would be with us forever are often snatched from us with no warning....widowed at 39. Hold someone a little tighter tonight.

I guess for all of us this song evokes all kinds of memories. My mother left my father and saved us out of a abusive existence. She bought a house and worked nights at the local hospital. Now that I'm an adult I don't know how she was able to do some of things she did. She was always afraid we'd find out her feet were made of clay. Miss her every day.

In between my Chinese New Year Lohei Yusheng dinner at Loyang Aloha Resort on 15 February 2103, I notice two pet cats are wandering in the backyard of the rented resort bungalow. The sight reminds me of the song Our House when things were really rough and hard in the 60's when my parents raised us four kids up. Now that they are gone, I cant help but to refresh my memory when I got home and replay that ballad, Our House, again via Utube musical video by ex-Hollie vocalist, Graham Nash.
