This campaign is a tough one for me. It starts off really strong, and peaks in Light in the Fog, but the last 2 scenarios were easilly the worse ones and felt indistinct because of the tidal tunnel abuse. Difficulty comes to enormous maps (terrible design for solo), randomness and a lot of unavoidable damage and horror. Horror in High Gear seems like an absolute cakewalk if played well, but like a gang beating if things spiral out of control. It's also missing for me that one great scenario to elevate it, such as Depths of Yopth, Threads of Fate, Search for Kadath or before the Black Throne. On the flipside it had really creative uses for locations and probably the best use of narrative yet. The fact that its ending scenarios are the weakest soured the experience for me, being just above TCU and Dunwich in my personal ranking of campaigns. Behind Carcosa, TDE and Forgotten Age.

Just bought this entire campaign, had to grab it before the price goes up in the US due to all the manufacturing and international shipping issues driving expenses up.

3:37 "a neat little twist that you can miss when you suck". For the record: we don't suck, we're masochists with an intelligence impairment who play on hard during a blind playthrough ;)

We did. We always check microphones before recording and all the microphones were working. We don't know what happened with Bryn's microphone here.

I liked them not giving out all the story in your first playthrough, it makes subsequent playthroughs more fun even with the linear storyline. Pit of despair is now one of my deck testing scenarios. It replays really well. The vanishing... I think the mechanics and the story go really well in this one. I like the strategic depth although, the game can still dick you over no matter how well you play. (I don't mind this, I came for the Lovecraft I stayed for the gameplay). In too deep has always been tight and fun every time I have played it. Devil Reef, the movement restrictions and the need to tackle the islands in a particular order without knowing where the islands are ahead of time, makes for an interesting puzzle. Horror in high gear, I screwed this one up so bad on my first playthrough (missed the bit where the cars move by themselves). Loved every subsequent playthrough. The last 3 blend together a bit too much imo.

I was hyped about this campaign cause of reviews I read online but after playing it I was kind of disappointed. It wasn't a bad campaign mechanically but all the time hopping and flashbacks made it hard to follow. By the end the people playing with me didn't really care about the story. We also played it spaced out. I'll likely play it again but I can't say this is one of my favorites. I feel like I would have liked it more if it was streight forward.

Absolutely agree. It's fine if you're doing a true solo run over the weekend but if you space this out over a month with a group of 4, it's just an absolute mess from a storytelling point of view.

Hey guys! Love your videos! I have a somewhat unrelated question for you. My friend and I are kinda new to the game. We just started Carcosa (im Sefina and he's Will). We got completely blasted by Curtain Call. I almost made it out but still lost. Sefina took a physical trauma and Will took a mental trauma. How much trouble are we in? Is this normal? Thank you!!

I don't think you're in that much trouble. The fail forward mechanic of the game makes these sorts of things normal, especially on blind playthroughs. Bad beats happen, but keep fighting and maybe you'll find yourself coming out ahead.

Oh, these three innocent guys thinking we'd have a Return to Innsmouth in a reasonable amount of time. Still hopeful, but sad. :(

If 20 minutes is short give me more short videos. Or even better, long ones >:) (Also I think Bryn’s mic wasn’t working)

This was recorded a while ago before I realized I needed to treat Bryn's microphone levels differently. So it's a new video for you guys, but a very old video for us while we were still troubleshooting some junk.

How long was it from the first scenario to the last? My group played one scenario per week for two months, and we mostly remembered the story. After the first scenario, I stopped looking at what each key specifically represented.

I believe we finished the whole campaign in three weeks.
