Nothing wrong with the other couples who lovingly gaze at one another when the other of the couple is speaking. Personally, I find the gazing at each other to be endearing...and I see it as a sign of their mutual espect and admiration for each other. It seems to me like many people are just trying to find something....anything...that they can point a finger at this family .. and then say.. " Aha..look at them..they are.weird" .. when, in reality, they are no more " weird" than the rest of the zaney, broken, fallen, messed- up, degenerate and a- moral world.

When you know you want a marriage that is Christ-centered, you can skip all the game playing so many young men and women do these days during the dating stage. You can go right to talking about "real" things, truly important things. Through these "real" discussions you find out quickly if the person might be who you want in a spouse or isn't at all who u want.

I love your love story!! There is such a difference in dating to marry and dating to say you have a boyfriend!!! I wrote a list of all the characteristics I want in my spouse. When I met my husband he checked every box. We’ve been married for 24 years and I don’t regret not having any other boyfriends. My husband wishes he would’ve did things differently before he met me. Seeing him give our sons dating advice is the best. He’s speaking from experience and wants to save them the heartache he experienced.

I dated prior to meeting my husband and I decided to make a list myself because I'm not into wasting my time with serial dating. Sometimes we need perspective to catch red flags before we adjust to them as "quirks." My husband and I celebrate 11 years married, 13 together in October. It doesn't mean it won't have challenges but that list helped me say "no" to character traits that were terribly toxic. My ADHD/ASD brain does not pick up on social cues like some folks do, so lists help me tremendously! Congratulations on 24 years!

Just a little note to you, Jed - - try not to interrupt Katey when she's already speaking. Let her fully speak and then signal that you'd like to say something. I don't know if you noticed, but you keep interrupting her mid-sentence and she's trying to be patient with you, but that is going to wear on her ( or anyone, for that matter ). So, cute love story....but, from a wife married almost 20 years, giving one another time to speak fully will definitely help your union. 💐

Y'all are a great example of a Godly couple. My husband and I were parents to teenagers when we started hanging out. We purposed to spend all of our "long distance" time with the children, for accountability but also if God didn't call us to marry, then we had a great friendship. It was important for us to wait until marriage for intimacy, but we kissed when we got engaged (9 weeks before the wedding). Looking back, I wish we had waited until the wedding day to kiss. God is the God of redeeming lives. It IS possible to wait until marriage for intimacy, even though you already have children. I would encourage any young woman, or man, to write down the list of desires for a spouse and pray over that list daily. Some of the strange requests I had of God on a potential spouse were realized, and it's just so humbling to have God answer those prayers specifically. (Side note, my first grandson's name is Truett - great name!!)

I think it’s good that you both had the mindset of looking for your future spouse, as opposed to randomly dating people. I am curious as to what would’ve happened if 1) Jed, if you had told your dad about Katey and he said that he didn’t think she was the one for you, and hadn’t taken you with him to AZ to get the bus? or 2) Katey, if your dad had only been okay with getting to know Jed as a friend but didn’t think he was the right man for you to marry? And if he’d suggested someone else instead? I’m asking because as much as God brought you both together, both of your fathers basically were gatekeepers. If either of them, or both, hadn’t been in favor of your relationship going forward, it would’ve likely never happened. There needs to be more of an acknowledgment of the worrisome parental control over two young adults’ life choices (you two), which is not good. Did they not trust you to talk together without their interference? It seems so. Getting to know the other’s family and having their blessing isn’t wrong. Having the whole relationship hinging on whether or not your earthly father approves of it doesn’t mean you’re following God - because everyone on earth is a sinner and can be wrong. Even about who is right for their children to marry.

First off thank you for the encouragement at the end as a single lady I could relate to a lot of what you were suggesting especially deepening my faith that is a area I am working on. Growing up my family didn't go to church so it wasn't til college when God brought my friend into my life who invited me to her church and has helped me so much in my faith. Thanks for always being so encouraging and wanting to see the best for your viewers. A fun video idea might be to do a video with Jer and Hannah (I don't know if you live close to each other) the video could be a Q and A together or anything else you think of I just think it would be cool with Jed and Jer obviously being close and it seems like Katey and Hannah get along really well as well for you guys to do a video together if Jer and Hannah were okay with it.

I have an adult son who grew up in the church from before he was born. Later, became part of our worship ministry. His dad and I talked a lot to him about praying for God to bring a Godly woman to him. Well, after years of waiting and going through college, he went with the ways of the world. My heart is so broken. He use to talk to my husband and I a lot. The world caused there to be a wedge between us and him. That part is super sad. He wants me to apologize to his gf, who he is unequally yoked with for not being happy about the relationship. What should I do? If you could answer what the Godly thing to do would be, I would be so grateful. Jed- I heard you say....a woman who loves her parents... That really struck a cord with our situation. We are really hurting. It is a joy to see such a young, faithful couple. May God bless you both with many years together!!🙏

@@kc26119 First of all God bless you. My heart breaks for you. I say go hard in prayer and keep praying about it. Outside of that gently let your son know that you see, what you think or, some incompatibilities BUT if he loves her you will love her too. Remember love is a decision not a feeling. Yes he's probably making a wrong choice, but I think the wise thing to do is to bite your lip and pray. HE WILL see it in due time. But the more you argue against her, the more wronged she'll look and the more wrong you will look. And when, or if,, he comes to you for advice with a problem (b/c they're coming) bite your lip and DON'T speak ill of her (that'll backfire on you). Take his hand and offer up the situation to God in prayer. My prayers go out to you.

I loved how you both pointed out about having the same love💕 language! It's so very important to me and others, too! It means a natural connection, not an effort to 'remember' to nurture the other person in a way that doesn't come as natural! When life gets busy, that kind of relationship nurturing is so important to keeping a solid foundation, being intertwined on a soul level that's natural makes for long term happiness! Glad you shared such an important point! I also liked how each of you "listened" to each other. Hearing is one thing, interrupting is another thing, but "Listening" is respect and is a secret to long term happiness! I REALLY loved and appreciated your open and honest conversation about finding a spouse but you did well especially around that awkward physical attraction and just explaining why it’s important and holding up your values and standards, Katie your view was refreshing, realistic and just open and honest when you talked about going back to your list and it wasn’t a silly immature list it was well thought out and realistic. I’m 45 and married for 23yr and I was truly blown away by your values. Thank you for sharing, from Australia 🇦🇺 🤩🤩❤️

Jed & Katey, Thank you for using your platform to share about the Lord and share your Godly example 💕 It's so refreshing to see the humility in both of your characters, along with your fun & down-to-earth personalities. I really enjoy listening to you both. Including the 3 of you in my prayers tonight 😸🙏

Such a sweet story. My husband and I have an amazing God filled love story. My husband fit the bill right down to his teeth! Lord knew I had a certain type and I also wanted my future husband to have these gorgeous teeth I know that sounds superficial but God made it happen 😆

We've been married nearly 50 years. There is no doubt that God brought us together. Nothing in our lives even in the weeks before we met..would indicate that the two of us would be in the same place at the time. Within 4 weeks we knew we would never be apart and we married a month later. CONGRATULATIONS TO YOU BOTH...MARRIAGE IS A MARATHON THAT YOU RUN IN TANDUM...IT'S SUCH A BLESSING! Give your love to God..and if He's center..you will have the special love you desire.

💝💝💝Thank you this was So Good. Jed....I always thought you were so Sweet and kind, and shy and was hoping you would find a Godly wife. I'm so Happy you 2 seem equally yoked in Christ, you both are very nice and natural and BEAUTIFUL.....His light is shining...thank you for not hiding or being ashamed of our Savior "Jesus". Not sure what God's plans are for you, but I could see you planting and growing a church for many years. You never know when God changes your path, but he will let you know! God Bless and Protect you and your babies as your family grows. Thank you for sharing parts of your journey with us. You make family friendly content and my grandchildren can watch. You can't say that about too many shows these days.☺️
