If you had to guess, how much time do you think you spend on daily tasks and monthly/weekly tasks? Me and my partner have been considering a homestead once we have enough money to buy some land and with both of us working full time we're worried about overcommitting ourselves. We mostly plan to do raised beds with irrigation, fruit/nut trees, a couple cows, and chickens. So pretty similar to yours just no bunnies, fish, or pigs. Also, do you do your own slaughtering and butchering of your animals or do you outsource those tasks? I don't think I could handle doing it myself, personally.

Hey there! Getting it all established is going to be the bulk of your time. You can expect a few long weeks/months of working during all of your spare time to get it up and running. But after that, you can implement systems that will have your daily chores less than an hour. Weekly you'll prob need half a day (maybe on the weekend?) for the more intensive jobs like cleaning out coops, scrubbing down troughs, preserving produce, etc. But when you start seeing the benefits of the work you put in, it makes it worth it ☺️. They key is to find low maintenance systems upfront, like the drip irrigation 👌 that will make your day-to-day so much easier. We have butchered our own chickens so far and wild game as well. It's not easy, for sure.. but it is rewarding. And if you're eating meat, someone's gotta do it, right? 🥰 Best of luck to yall!!
