No problem at all understanding your accent! 😊👍 and the translation (to swedish) isn’t always correct. Maybe english subs would be enough for thoes complaining about the accent. 😉 I really enjoy watching your reactions. And you seem to be such a beautiful couple. ❤ Love from Stockholm, Sweden.

Up here in Scandinavia, the teaching of English starts in the first grades. We listen to English-language music, watch lots of English-language movies and series, TV shows etc, WITHOUT dubbed sound so the vast majority of us have no problems with English. Regular KZitem subtitles are probably more than enough (for those who hear a little worse or have easier for written English.) I'm from southern Sweden and have never been to Lapland, but I will. It is magically beautiful up there.

Russia is a very authoritarian country and sami-people do not have the protection there that they have in Sweden, Norway and Finland. In those three countries its not true that companies/the state can come at ”any time” and build mines or wind turbines. (He didnt actually say that in the film either😊). There are negotiations, diplomatic discissions and sometimes trials when there is disagrements between the sami-people and the government or a company about for an ex a windturbine-park. And in some cases the sami-people has won those trials. The wind turbines, and also some of the mines, are part of the green industry/transition that is important now that we need to move away from fossil fuels/oil etc. . So sometimes its a difficult balance when it comes to this - that has more to do with survival (in the face of climate change) than greed. (Although there are of course some companies that are just greedy). Whilst still trying to protect the indigenous peoples rights. People that (-the ones that live traditionally-) are not responsible for all the problems we have today with pollution/climatechange, so of course it can seem unfair that they have to give up their land due to something they didnt cause- but we are where we are when it comes to this unfortunately..

The Sami people have been struggling against authorities, politics for centuries. Also Christianity has been a huge problem ever since it came to this parts of the world. That oppression ended about 100 years ago (I don't have the specific facts on the matter) The only people that actually treated Sami like equals were the Vikings, with whom they had trading/business that were lucrative in both ways. There are nowadays also huge problems with racism against Sami. It's a discrase here in Sweden. I'm not Sami, but I can tell the difference between right and wrong. Some idiots torture reindeers to death and the cops do nothing...
