Kyle, you have a good quality that is almost unseen in the tesla enthusiast community which is the ability to not buy into the hype. You actually just look at things from a realistic perspective. And the cybertruck is a pretty awesome truck by any normal standards/expectations. It’s only a let down because people somehow believed a vehicle with double the battery of a model Y, 50% larger, brand new manufacturing process and a lot more was somehow gonna cost less than the base model Y.

Hey Kyle, love the vids, keep’em coming. On this video you were talking about Hertz and how they charge you when returning your rental. As an FYI, as a Hertz Gold Member you just have to bring the car back with 70% charge or better and they will not charge you a fee. That’s true at all Hertz rental places. I’ve rented a number of different electric cars at many different locations over the last couple years and haven’t had any fees added. Hope that helps you…..

Fantastic video.. loved all the factory coverage.. so cool that Tesla was so open about the truck.. had some sitting around with lighting under them. There are some new innovations in the truck. I saw on the Haggerty video.. it is Steer by wire... 180 lock to lock. 48 volt main power system, and something about the internal comms systems.. maybe Ethernet based.. not sure. Hated the design when it came out in 2019... but its is growing on me... kinda like it now. Pricing seems fine to me... look at a loaded GMC Denali... its near $100K. But they should never have said it would be $40K to begin with.

At least Rivian honored reservation pricing. It’s a shame Tesla announced a price, then changed it. We complain about dealer markup and marketplace pricing but here is a manufacturer that announces a teaser price only to grab as many reservations as possible, then readjust the final price according to what they think we will pay. Rivian did better on this.
@lanzer22

By the time I'm financially ready for a second vehicle there will be other manufacturers, hopefully with NACS by then. I'm not too worried about the "innovation" side of things on this. They're using mostly what's tried and true. I am surprised the rear motors are induction though on the tri. I'd like to know the reasoning for that. I'm assuming the front axle is the primary then on that model. Which honestly would be slightly better for slippery conditions. The rear end kicks out a bit on my model 3 on snow/ice before the front kicks in.

$80k is too rich for my wallet-but considering what you get, it's a bargain. A flippin' Ford Raptor is the same price, doesn't offer an air suspension, 4 wheel steering, steer-by-wire, the ground clearance or near the power of Cybertruck. So you do get a lot for the money-it's just that a lot of buyers don't need those features. I hope they come out with a version priced around $55-60k without the air suspension, locking diffs and RWS.

Come on Kyle, this is Tesla, you gotta learn to ask about fine print. E.g. you just believe the guy telling you the motors can produce 845hp, but with Tesla it means nothing. I bought a Model S P85D from Tesla which had motors officially advertised on the order page as capable of 691hp, with OTA power upgrade coming soon, yet it was never delivered, not even close. Tesla admitted 2 or 3 years later that it would require 50% more powerful battery in order to get close to the advertised number. Tesla of course said they did nothing wrong advertising a number they could never reach because the motors technically could reach that number, just not in any Tesla car they sold it in. Or would asking about the fine print get you kicked out of Tesla events? Only the blindly faithful allowed?

Specs are also ALL down on promised (except) screen size). You're getting the short range in the tri motor one. Less cargo space, no 6th seat. Not even room for a spare wheel. The 6" bed is only the floor itself, you can not fit a 5'6" box in there. Not even a bicyle fits in there straight. Mine...perhaps barely diagonally by its lonesome. And you can't get it with indicator stalks anymore even. The kinds of drivers that believe in Level 5 autonomy from base autopilot are now going to be driving that among traffic. Think about that for a moment or two.

Innovation… The lack of. I’ve heard that, but don’t agree. Perhaps the 48 volt architecture ‘seems’ old hat. It has been talked about for a long time, but nobody has done it. Outside of Tesla, it maybe years before another mass market vehicle does it. Steer by wire has been done once (?) but with a mechanical backup. There’s NO saving if you still have to install hardware steering. Weight. Not something you can “see”. However, it weighs a little less than the Rivian, but it’s larger. Four wheel steering was first done years ago, but is still very uncommon. Stainless steel was done long ago, but certainly, not with an alloy like this. How practical it will be may take years to determine. In a couple of years, I guess someone will have to come up with an idea for a “Back to the future” movie for it!

Why is tesla able to do things others cant but struggle with something like the seats ? Is it a cost thing ? The spartan interior seems like it should be cheaper but built better . Is it that difficult to egineer a seat compared to what else they have to overcome ? Is it priority , price issue / cost savings to bring price near some level of affordable ? I love the cybertrukk as function over form hwving a vehicle that doesnt start rusting , picking up dents from day one from parking lots and being the SAFEST VEHEICLES you can drive which ALONE makes it make sense to own if you can afford one. If i had money its the car i would drive , what is more important then death and avoiding it ? I were mega rich i would buy one for anybody i loved . Ones personal environment when moving around next to idiots at up to 90 mph keeping their cars from entering yours and surviving a crash is #1 concern or should be if your sentient . After that you have comfort , then performance and effeciency and lastly you have appearence , 99.99. % of people who see your car dont know you or care one bit what yours or anybodies car looks like , why do people care what people they never meet think about a transportation tool ? If you cant afford a cybertrukk or any tesla i can unde4stand not liking them but based on safety i cant see why somebody wouldnt want one even if they had multiple vehicles . For commutting and boring driving ( not sport / fun driving ) i want the safest car . I corvette Z06 for high power fun for reasonable price and something like a miata for actual sports car aggressive back road driving where you ARE being risky on purpose . But for most driving i would want a cyber trukk just for keeping death on the road away . Paint in general on cars is stupid . Having the exterior of a car painted in high gloss paint that anything can scratch is idiotic . The materials used for cybertrukk is the best idea in the history of cars . People complain about panel gaps on super bendable steel with shiney paint ? Stupidest material for something to put in a parking lot to play bumper cars with women and geriatrics . If you have a problem with a car built not to rust , break , bend and scratch etc your a dum dum who cares what your car looks like and an idiot . This looks cool anyway . If your stuck on shiney sparkley things your a rediculous chimp or a crow . I cant believe people are not beyond super pysched to be abke to finally buy a vehicle that makes sense and is the safest . If you can get a beast you have something 3 X faster then needed to be considered fast 7 seconds to 60 works in the real world and 2.6 is bonkers and people dont even grasp how nuts that is for a massive tank . Even the 4 sec ones are overkill . Its nice somebody is forcing people to have a car that makes more sense . Once you see a car made from this material HOW THE FUCK WOULD YOU EVER WANT ONE MADE OF ANCIENT PAINTED STEEL PANELS . your and idiot if you prefer the look of paint over a massive gain in finctionality and safety , period . I my humble opinion, this is the ugliest vehicle ever made. I’d take an Edsel any day over the cybertruck. We bought a 3 year old Kia EV this year & love it. Tesla was never a consideration because I can’t stomach owning a vehicle from a hate filled old-school Apartheidist.

For a Mk 1 model, it’s a remarkable piece of Engineering, they didn’t take., 70s truck and stick a battery in it. It’s designed from the ground up, watch the video with the Engineers.

Double the price with less range, payload, and towing capacity? Color me shocked that people are disappointed. Should've spent their resources on a super affordable, mass market EV

I dont understand the comments here. This vid made me unsubscribe lol. I love EV's but these last two vids of Kyle simping for Tesla is too much for me. Anytime anyone says anything negative about the Cybertruck he gets so defensive. I personally cant do it. All the best to rest of yall who think "this is the best review of the cybertruck" but im out.

Cool truck, but you paid 30k over asking. Hope they drop the prices quickly. I'd love to get one, but don't mind waiting two years for them to refine and drop the price.

Pricing is an issue. RWD is 50k. I don't believe that. Also F150 pro Max trailering is 52k both tow the same 7,500 lbs but one is 4wd. You can have a F150 lightning today. RWD CT is 2026-2027.....

It looks hideous in my opinion. And at this point I think it's being overhyped just because Tesla. Then again, I know Americans love big, bold, and outspoken vehicles.

Tesla Cybertruck pricing: Just what I expected/hoped for as a shareholder - just under the $80k price threshold to get the $7500 EV tax credit. It would have been stupid to sell the truck for $40k with 2 million orders. The Porsche 911 has a RRP range of £99,275 to £234,260.

In the 90s GM released the dustbuster vans, and got crucified for having this long dash where things would get lost. The Cybertruck is even worse - yet, none of the fanboys mention this.

Is no one talking about the price. Supposedly the same battery pack across all trims but $20k difference in price for 1 extra motor. 🤔

Kerap review. Could be condensed to 5 minutes without the subjective tour/production/like/dislike/compare comments.

The Rivian R1T truck looks so outdated compared to CyberTruck. How quickly have I got used to looking at CT to think that?

FYI - Hertz charged me 35 USD in Pittsburgh PA. Even though I was within 5% of the charge provided.

You mentioned Europe deliveries? Ummm... Do you know about their pedestrian mandates for car design over there? They are strict as hell. I cant see that brick wall front end on the Cybertruck being legal with their strict regulations for pedestrian safety. The rich get to have their way one way or another so someone can probably get one and ship it over there but i cant see them being able to buy one over there or even plate one if they get one over there.

I am a truck owner but definitely not impressed with the Cybertruck! It is different but expensive and nonfunctional for what I use a pickup for!

I just hope that this stealth bomber never comes to Europe. It perfectly represents what the egoistic society needs on the road: "Get out of the way and me first." I hope our children will be wiser than us.

Kyle you were talking about your Rivian over heating when towing. How does the lightning do with towing? To be honest I'm thinking about going lightning after they switch to NACS / their next ev truck version. When I preordered the cybertruck I mostly was thinking about the charging network. Now that NACS is opening up thinking about alternatives.

Cybertruck indeed, it is more reminiscent to a garbage truck. Would have to be the worst vehicle I have ever seen, a complete joke and only goes to show there are more fools with lots of money to waste than ever before. These vehicles will do very little to change the environment, they are the pipe dream of a greedy person who does nothing to really help humanity at all. Only does it all to serve his own ego.

So the stainless steel pillar covers are definitely not functioning as an exosceleton structure, when they dissolve from the frame underneath in a crash. Overall a very good money proposition, one should not forget that it is technology wise top notch and superior to anything else available in the truck segment.

Truly don't get they hype. Useless as a (true)pick-up and over-priced for anyone using it simply as a 'car'.

With those angles you're gonna hear stories of people falling and striking a corner of their cyber truck and suffering serious injuries. 😅 Looks terrible.

Is there a reasonable point to even making a FWD version of a truck with a foot of suspension travel? Isn't that the pinnacle of idle showing off?
