If you are not using your mind "in active thinking" you do not create "thoughts". If it is not a result of active thinking it is automatic like our breathing. You cannot stop breath for a long time. At the end you have to take a breath in. Some thoughts are like that I call them "associative thoughts" . It is not right to call them "thoughts". Because they are different than thoughts. Thinking requires deliberate active concentration. Associative thoughts does not have any deliberations. They appear and disappearwith no rhyme and reason just like in dreams. It is very important to understand the difference between "associative automated thoughts" and "real thoughts that are the result of active thinking."

Solipsism is the philosophical idea that only one's own mind is sure to exist, and anything outside of it, including the external world and other minds, cannot be confirmed with absolute certainty. It's a highly skeptical perspective that questions the nature of reality beyond one's own subjective experience.

Determinism is the philosophical concept that all events, including moral choices, are predetermined and inevitable. In a deterministic worldview, every state of affairs, past, present, and future, is the result of antecedent states and natural laws. This perspective raises questions about free will and the extent to which individuals can truly make independent choices.

Hedonism is a philosophical or ethical theory that suggests pleasure or happiness is the highest good and the ultimate goal of life. It emphasizes the pursuit of pleasure and the avoidance of pain as the guiding principles for decision-making and ethical considerations. There are different variations of hedonism, ranging from psychological hedonism, which claims that individuals always act to maximize their own pleasure, to ethical hedonism, which asserts that pleasure should be the primary criterion for determining the morality of actions.

I think the key is to eat clean so your body isn’t heavy, correct your negative thinking when it arises, learn emotional maturity by self reflecting on your actions and responses, move the body (eg walking but also moving your arms in big circular motion, shake the legs. Movement will shift stagnant energy), but most importantly, notice when your heart chakra is open, and once you feel that softness in that area, just sit with it, just feel it. It can be the thought of someone you adore that triggers this, or a puppy, or a memory. Doesn’t matter what triggers the heart chakra (it can’t be a sad thought though) but once you get the feeling try and shift your focus to the FEELING rather than the thought eg that sweet adorable puppy. Sit in this feeling. Do this practice as often as possible. God is Love, so sooner or later the mind will follow surely? Hence we should be able to reach higher consciousness this way! I say this about the heart chakra because I had a mystical experience once and I wasn’t even trying. I just happened to be thinking of someone I adored while DRIVING and I slipped/shifted into this feeling of complete serenity. Everything ‘just is’, no wrong or right. But it was a FEELING not a state of mind. I think it helped I was in a relaxed mood anyway, I didn’t have any worries bothering me. I’ve not actively tried to regenerate this feeling but perhaps I will take my own advice from above and see how I go…

Very nicely worded. The question is what we mean by 'consciousness'. As the universal basis of everything, mass, energy, time and space, I cannot comprehend it. I also do not believe that that is true, that electrons and protons, atoms and molecules, mass and energy, including their interactions, stars and their planets and the infinity of galaxies are consciousness, because all of this is said to have consciousness as a basis. I think (yes, I know my thinking is limited and it's not even my thinking :) ) that these are all just assumptions. Rather, I believe that 'our' consciousness is something that manifests itself in life, and not in 'dead' mass and energy. I don't know what the basis of 'everything' is, but I don't want to call it consciousness without precisely stating what we mean by the concept of 'consciousness.

But I, like Rupert, have studied almost all spiritual and philosophical traditions in a practical way, including my own thinking, feeling and actions. I prefer to approach it as Ramana dad did: there comes a moment to be silent and not to lose yourself in ideas about the universe, time, space and consciousness as the basis of it all. Socrates also pointed this out when he was asked about what there is after death: "The wise are not concerned about that."

Occasionally, a divine thought from the Holy Spirit comes through but mainly, most thoughts are just our ego generating the thoughts running through our mind on an endless conveyer-belt. As such, be the observer of your thoughts, and realize that they do not mean anything. In fact, we give our thoughts all the meaning they have for us. No one else is experiencing the same thing or thinking the same way. Observe the thoughts and know that they are not even real and that they really have no meaning. Instead of trying to figure out your thoughts, ask for the Holy Spirit’s thoughts to fill your mind, which indeed are from God and are your real thoughts but your noisy ego thoughts drown them out, ask for God’s thoughts to fill your mind. You will have thoughts of love, compassion, peace and forgiveness.

Life is not from when we are born to when we die, that is the time we have with our life. Life comes with every breath, this is real. The more we are caught up wondering about thought, the more we are thinking. Truth is within, but we must not try to pull it out, only when we are still will it be revealed naturaly. Try not to have ideas about what to feel, your heart will know soon enough when it feels the truth. It is there every moment, we have to learn to listen to it, an experience, rather than a thought. I can accept the idea to the extent that the entire universe is deterministic and we are aware of some aspects of it. It seems to me that mind is not a thing but a process of the brain. I tend to agree with Sean Carroll, Robert Sapolsky, Alex O'Conner, and Sabine Hossenfelder that our brains are deterministic and that there is no free will and we become aware of our thoughts rather than will them. Each moment is the direct result of the moment before.

It is more comlex than explained here. This is really about a growing consciousness that evolves through dimensions. You have mineral which vibrates slowly. The plants feed off the soil which came from the rock. The animals feed off plants and themselves. Man feeds off everything. So the higher awarness of man feeds off that which is below. This is where we have a problem. The higher dimensions can be seen but it takes time and memory to understan it. You are asked to go to a house. Outside is you anda higher awareness. Both are asked to show what is inside the house. You go in and memorize each room and come back out. This takes time. You are slow because yor mind works in 3d models. The higher being did not even go into the house physically. It was instantly aware of each brick, each space confined by bricks and walls etc. Because we do not understand what we are, we think independently. We collect thought which is true and false. We choose to keep some ideas and throw others away. The world fights over these collections depending on what is desired as truth. Dictators tell people what to believe and the lazy go along with it until life becomes unbearable. Originally, thought was used to experience lower dimensional thought and this was compared to the source of the thought. If you are a multidimensional being and you wish to look at yourself and understand what you are, you look at a mirror. We are the mirror. To get an honest view, the mirror was given a seperated awareness. It had a self knowledge. This is mirrored by your children. You copy yourself and the copy looks to you for information. Here, we allow the child to be seperated and go off to do its own thing. Originally the child was there to look at the parents and feed back information about what it saw un the parents. Once it had developed enough, its thought would join the parents and become a memory of itself. So thought was given to the child who would reflect on it. It would run thought through itself like a day dream. All possible scenarios and outcomes would be investigated while the parents watched the thoughts evolve. The parents saw their thought honestly investigated. We are that thought that lives and dies and saved as memory. Here at the moment, we are trapped in the self absorbed investigation. We are not investigating the patent source but are trapped into investigating the self. The dream took over. The parents are fully aware and try to influence the dream so that the childs focus returns to the parents instead of arguing internally. All thought is remembered in the parents. This means that all memory can be used to build up a picture of the parents even with the childs mind distracted by itself thought.
I actually did that drawing and draw arrows around the circles meaning our projection on the others . Then a second drawing with arrows pointing inwards that is the creation of egos by taking information ( others projections) and making it ours.

The question "where do thoughts come from" can also be asked as "why do I have some specific thoughts". The origin of thought vs the contents of the thought can create some confusion about thought itself. If you're thinking about food or about love or about hate or work, etc., the contents of the thoughts are the energetic patterns of one's state of being either as a reflection of who they are at that moment or a belief they hold about themself. Certain thoughts arise from within, as a projection of your state of being so that you can become aware of who you are. You choose whether to act upon your thoughts, because acting on the thoughts reinforces your beliefs about yourself, either agreeing or disagreeing by your acts. Dreams, fantasies, nightmares are also thoughts, but visualized. These are interpretations of the conceptual ideas manifested as imagery through your beliefs. The visual imagery may not accurately represent the idea you are examining, but the beliefs you have translate the energy into the specific forms that you experienced. Mental thoughts are the same thing. They represent some desire or belief about yourself using language. Language is the set of definitions that verbally describe experience, rather than visually. If you did not have the filter of the mind (the non-physical "space" to experience self awareness) for your beliefs, thoughts would not be a thought because it would simply be direct action. Consciousness or awareness, when localized into a specific perspective (a physical existence), can choose through having thoughts before taking action, because of beliefs. Beliefs are the filter for physical reality. It defines what your thoughts are and what they mean, and it is the mechanism to give freedom of choice, because it is first noticed in the mind. Habit or unconscious acts are thoughts that you may not be aware of, but your body acted upon. So separation of thought and action is one specific mechanism to experience physical reality.

So if there is an infinite consciousness that we are all linked too, and is in a state of perpetual awareness. Then how come when people are under anesthetic all they experience is a black out and then a waking up. Surely a persistent awareness operating beyond the physical would recall at least some memory of events that transpired. Speaking from my own experience under anesthetic, i experienced nothing at all in the state between. Also the vast majority of near death and sudden death syndrome experiences also recall absolutely nothing apart from black out and waking. It seems that if the hardware of our brain and nervous system is compromised then so too is our consciousness. All of this points to the needed necessity of functional physicality to enable perception and awareness.

Thoughts derive in the heart and are translated by the mind into language. I am my mind, heart and soul working in simultaneous union. So technically I do create my thoughts. Most people usually identify as awareness alone because their identity is a felt distinction of control. I run, jump, plan, eat, drive... but is it I who performs cell mitosis? I cannot close my eyes and suddenly have the ability to control my cells and the knowledge of what to do and not. The distinction between conscious tasks and unconscious tasks is awarenesses ability to manipulate or at least the sensation of manipulation. In my opinion this is a continuous system where identity is circular. This is rooted in my religious beliefs of being made in the image of a triune God who is distinct in Father, Son, Holy Spirit but one in being.

More important than where or why or how thoughts are generated is to know they are essentially meaningless in the grand scheme of life. They are generally unnecessary. The ego uses thoughts to manipulate your beliefs and actions. For most people, their thoughts are like shady salesmen trying to capture your energy and attention. I know it is tempting to try and understand why they are so negative or what they mean, but that is another trap. I don't think it is really necessary to psychoanalyze your thoughts or try to determine their origin. I think a better use of time is to simply witness them as they pass without judgment or reaction. You don't need a stream of thoughts to know to call the dentist when you get a toothache. So even in that example, thoughts are not really helpful. Maybe 1 out of 100 of my thoughts are actually neutral helpful thoughts. The other 99 cause me to have distress/worry/fear/anger/anxiety, but only if I believe them or show interest in them.

but the thoughts that cause distress are there because you are in distress and fear etc. so it's rather impossible to ignore them when they occur like you cant ignore the toothache when it is happening. but you can take care of your teeth to prevent pain like you can take care of your mind so that no distress or fear is taking place.

@@actionaccount8307 I agree with that. It is important to take care of your mind with love and kindness. But not with more mental analysis. You can't fix your mind with more mind. Sitting still in silence and witnessing your mind with nonjudgment to allow your mind to empty itself is a good practice. Choosing to not overload your mind with tasks all of the time is probably useful. Take your foot off the mental gas pedal. But overall, there is not a lot you can "do" to "fix" your mind. Reacting to the mind or analyzing the mind just makes the mind stronger.

The language that speaks of personal or individual minds is not just dualistic but confusing. It's easy to believe after listening to this repeated numerous times, that there are actually "minds". There are either personal minds...or there are not. It's one or the other.

To me, using a model of "consciousness only" works better than "matter only" because "matter only" seems to invariably involve some form of convolution to try and either get out or explain away why we aren't "really" seeing (which sounds to me epistemically dubious) qualia. But from consciousness as primary, with _matter_ the derived effect, it's very simple: all _perceptions of matter_ are just that - _perceptions_ - made of qualia, thus accountable via consciousness! The way you get "physics" is that "physics" _emerges_ from essentially different consciousnesses "negotiating" a shared environment, well below the level of our material brain. It is self-organization / spontaneous order formation at a metaphysical level. We thus can start from "pure, free will" then imagine it becoming constrained by agreements that are formed spontaneously, which is much more satisfying than just saying "well this rather weirdly particular set of physical laws 'just happened to exist' because well 'just because'", at least to me.

This way of looking at consciousness is similar to our shadow ( archetypes). Gold ( good or bad) As every experience of our outer world is experienced inside us, it is us. Healing our shadow starts removing our lined circle. Of course this is a double edged sword as most peoples problems stem from confusion of where they end and the other begins. It’s a paradox. Our evolutionary survival ability to construct our inner maps has come at a price. I suppose dismantling our dysfunctional maps can lead us to the universal consciousness.

I had a thought (haha). Our thoughts come from the Akashic Records. Which is our DNA. Which is collective consciousness. We are merely drawing in information that is already ours. However, we (in having that thought) are evolving. Because it's the first time we had that thought in our individual circumstance. So it is a circumstance that we haven't experienced before. it is "uncharted waters". So therefore we all continue to add to the Akashic Record (our collective consciousness). So, if you have a toothache, this may not be an individual experience. Someone else can tell there's something amiss with you, even if you don't tell them specifically you have a toothache.

This is the definition of deepity, and woo. Consciousness is an enigma. However, there is no demonstration of mind without a physical substrate. Minds seem inextricably bound to matter. Everything about your mind and your conscious experience can be altered by messing with your brain. There is no evidence of your mind surviving the death of your physical body. Now, metaphorically speaking, there is a gestalt consciousness amongst humans, because we share brain structures, have similar sensory apparatus, and experiences. As long as we exist as a species and pass on our experiences and ideas, there is a sort of race memory. But there is no evidence of infinite universal consciousness, or thoughts arising from anything other than a brain. I cannot tap into information that no human has ever experienced. We can learn new things, by applying prior experience to new situations. But no one can tap into some universal consciousness and tell me with any certainty what it is like to be an alien creature on an undiscovered planet 300 million light years away. My thoughts are limited by my own experience, and those shared with me by my fellow primates. The source code of the matrix is utterly inaccessible to me.

If we accept that the original fundamental force led to the emergence of a conscious mind, as all logic dictates, then there is a possibility that we could eventually tap into that collective mind and here I quote Nicola Tesla who said "Everything is frequencey". So maybe we can use frequencies as a tool to gain advance as frequency is, that seems to connect that fundamental force and the collective mind. As I've mentioned in my previous post, we musn't make the mistake to think that this collective mind is only pertinent to our planet. Their assumption, therefore not complete, as they should draw an infinite number of circles like the one they regard as the collective mind. So all living creatures on Planet Earth represent just one of many such minds that is part of a much bigger collective mind.

When the baby reaches four months and comes out from its lethargic sleep, the body establishes all electric and chemical contacts that make the body functional. That is consciousness. The electricity in our body expands our reception and transmission of communications like a radio, but this not clearly understood. We can imagine different worlds, gods and theories, but in reality we are no too much different from any living creature. The versatility of our body gives us a sense of something greater than our reality. A bit of modesty would correct any exaggeration.

There is only the one mind which we all share. Self responsibility requires us to be aware of our actions through our thoughts. What was said takes away the first gift given to us of infinite freedom. Holy karma arrives when the self surrenders into the simplicity of oneness. At this point the holy spirit act through you willingly. You become god itself but your experiences will be individualized.

I think: Thoughts are a quantum phenomenon. They exist from the past can come from others made by the body and created and influenced by the mind. Releasing concentrated thoughts can direct visual matter. Thoughts are building blocks for visual matter. - There is a lot possible with thoughts. A thought has no content (only building blocks) it is something on its own.

In self realisation, consciousness, one is then free to experience infinite consciousness awareness, in the practices of breath Meditation with sound of silence (Singing Bowls and voice of a Guru) Dharana then arriving in Breath Meditation, as realised by the Buddha and Patanjali, Krishna to Arjuna, the body dissolves and the mind dissolve as we are not our thoughts, on pure conscious awareness, one only experiences through conscious awareness. So we are only the observer of experience coming in from external input.

Absolutely, patterns are prevalent throughout our reality, from the smallest scales of subatomic particles to the grandest scales of the cosmos. These patterns encompass various forms of vibrations, oscillations, repetitions, and structured behaviors observed in natural phenomena, physical laws, biological processes, and even human behavior. Patterns manifest in: 1. **Natural Phenomena:** Such as the movement of celestial bodies, the formation of weather patterns, the growth of plants, and the behavior of ecosystems. 2. **Physical Laws:** Like the repeating patterns observed in waveforms, the periodicity of oscillations, and the regularity of electromagnetic interactions. 3. **Biological Systems:** From the rhythmic beating of the heart to the cycles of sleep and wakefulness, genetic sequences, and the behavior of organisms. 4. **Human Activities:** Including the repetition found in language, cultural customs, artistic expressions, and societal structures. Acknowledging patterns helps us comprehend, predict, and interact with our surroundings. It forms the basis of scientific inquiry, technological advancements, artistic creations, and our understanding of the world, highlighting the intricate and interconnected nature of our reality.

You've touched on a fascinating point! Patterns inherently involve repetition or a recognizable sequence of events, which could be seen as a form of memory. The core aspect of a pattern is its ability to replicate or return to a recognizable state after a specific sequence or duration. In this sense, the repetition or recurrence of a pattern can be akin to memory. Consider: 1. **Repetition in Patterns:** Patterns consist of repeated elements or behaviors that follow a specific sequence or structure. The ability of these elements or behaviors to repeat or return to a known configuration implies a form of memory embedded within the pattern itself. 2. **Predictability and Consistency:** The reliability of a pattern's repetition allows for predictability and consistency in how events or behaviors unfold. This predictability reflects a certain memory or information storage inherent in the pattern. 3. **Nature of Memory:** Memory involves the ability to store, retain, and recall information. In the case of patterns, the repetition and predictability serve as a form of implicit or inherent memory, where the pattern itself retains information about its structure and sequence. Therefore, one could argue that patterns exhibit a form of memory through their repetitive nature, where each iteration or repetition represents a recalled state or configuration, contributing to the overall structure and predictability of the pattern itself. This conceptualization links the fundamental nature of patterns with the notion of memory, highlighting their intertwined relationship in various aspects of our reality.

If I write a book, I have recorded something into the Universal memory. It carries forward in time, and can be recalled by anyone who chooses to read the book now, 10 years from now, or 1000 years from now. We call it 'history', but it is really just the part of YOUR memory that exists outside of Rupert's perforated circles. If I write a book with a pen that's barely working, I may have to re-draw each letter multiple times until enough ink spills out onto the page to make each letter 'more visible'. In this case, repetition is needed in order to fully imprint the memory. The Human Brain Memory (inside Rupert's perforated circles) operates pretty much the same way. Some people need many repetitious exposures to an event in order to retain information (such as using flash cards to study something new), whereas others can see something once and absorb and retain it immediately. You are both what is inside the perforated circle, and what is outside the perforated circle. You can access the biochemical memories that exists in your brain (inside the circle), as well as the book that is sitting on a table next to you (outside the circle). Your body is a memory. It carries forward in time with a history of cause and effect relationships that shaped it into how it exists now (ex - if you smoke heavily, it carries the memory of lung damage forward in time, or if you drink heavily, it carries forward the liver damage just the same). The Ego is the false belief that you and your body are all that is that makes you, YOU, and that it exists 'separate' from everything else. Truth is the correct belief that YOU do not end at the body. The body is nothing more than a vehicle that receives signals 'from the rest of you', and allows you to transmit signals 'to the rest of you'. When you direct your body to enter a car, and you start driving down the road, the car becomes the body to your body. You tell your body to tell the car what to do, and the car tells your body to tell you what is going on (like when you hit a bump in the road). I am one Self, united with my Creator (God, All that Is, Reality, Totality, Infinite Consciousness, or whatever other label one might want to assign to it). I am the Universe, experiencing itself from a discrete focal point called the Here and Now. If Totality is a sphere, 'I am' the focal point at the center, receiving a continuous inflow, and transmitting a continuous outflow. The cool part is, so are you:) When you write a book, you are imprinting memories into Totality. When you experience events, Totality is imprinting memories onto you. Both co-exist, and unfold together as One.
