I was really pleased to see my favourite TV western mentioned here, it's rarely mentioned anywhere. I always loved the series Gunslinger (and also the theme song). I was watching westerns when I was a child, when TV was a new thing and came in cabinets with dials like tuning in to a radio station. I was kind of brought up watching westerns (and detective series, such as 77 Sunset Strip, THE Cat, The Felony Squad etc) as they were very popular at the time with shows like Roy Rogers, The Cisco Kid, The Lone Ranger etc. My favourites at that time, apart from Gunslinger, were The Range Rider, Davy Crockett and Hawkeye and the Last of the Mohicans ( the latter two were not really Westerns but the pioneer west). Later the shows such as Bronco, Cheyenne and Tenderfoot were very popular. Another early show I liked was The Gray Ghost , as I was interested in the Civil War, and later of course, The Rebel. Of the other shows you mentioned that I liked there was High Chaparral, Laredo and Branded. Other Westerns not mentioned I also liked were Alias Smith and Jones, The Quest, The Oregon Trail and The Monroes. For me, this was the golden period for not only Westerns but for TV in general.
