one of the most social towns in the uk i born 1945 remember my parents taking me to the roxy theatre to watch the piano player creating a world record it was a pleasure to be a member of that community we lived 5 miles from the town centre but the town centre was the hub for social gatherings great spirited folk the falkirk bairns we would recognise it now sadly

The rot set in with the destruction of the old town hall in the 1960’s. If the council and architects had shown more sympathy for historic Falkirk and more imagination in how to incorporate it. The place would not be the ghost town it is today. You must educate the population to appreciate what they have or its easily lost.

Brought back so many memories. Lived all my life in Falkirk district. The photo of Falkirk High School - I attended there from 1967-72 and these porto cabins were not in place at that location then. That tarmac area was used for playing football with a tennis ball every play time.

Me too! The tune defo brings a tear to my eye. Probably because..sadly.. it's very apt. Falkirk is not the town it once was. It has changed alot over the past 15/20 years or so, and not for the better. Quite sad seeing all the pics of things that were great about the town that are no longer there or have changed since. Falkirk has had the heart and soul ripped out from it.
