Cory Wells (Emil Lewandowski-named after my grandpa) was my late father's cousin. So sad to learn about his death in 2015. I was able to meet him I think once, when I was a newborn. Obviously, and unfortunately I don't remember it. He called my mom when my dad passed away and had such a loving, beautiful talk with him about my dad. I never fully grasped that he was apart of my family til years ago, and started to listen to them more and more after my dad passed, then him. So much talent..all of them in the band! Love Three Dog Night. Seriously some of the best music I've ever listened to. I could listen to this song over and over.

When I was maybe 9 or 10, my parents dropped me off to see their show. Since I was so short at that age, some guy in the audience (remember festival seating?) picked me up and put me on his shoulders so I could see. Chuck Negron pointed me out in mid-song and gave me a thumbs up - one of the highlights of my life. It meant a lot of a little kid. Can't drop a child that age off anywhere at night nowadays, sadly. I loved Three Dog Night - they didn't write any songs, but they sure did some great covers and originals. And I miss seeing Floyd Sneed on stage - one of my greatest early influences as a drummer. Great stuff.

For me - this song was TDN's masterpiece. And of course - one of Paul William's finest works. I was lucky enough to see all the guys (except for Chuck) in different concerts and they always seemed to love doing this fabulous number. Cory could and would always sing up a storm, always in perfect pitch, along with Danny, and I was always amazed how well their voices did not seem to deteriorate with age, and were like a ring in a bell, with lots of power and projection. They always looked great, too. As a note here - Jimmy's wonderful and very memorable B3 keyboard solo in the middle of the song - adds a very nice touch to the number, as it always did. As others have said - both Cory and Jimmy's great talents are much missed but certainly not forgotten, and the fabulous Three Dog Night music lives on and on.
