Having the same issue as Ulises Reyes commented on. When the material is added it looks segmented like a quilt and when the displacement is adjusted sharp bumps appear in a uniform pattern on the mesh. Did I miss a setting somewhere?

Fantastic and complex addon! Incredible work. I have been trying to follow along with everything, checked two videos and followed every step, but when i use the disp strenght at 1 my object just looks like a spikey mess? Scale is set, tried 100 subs when making the A.N.T landscape, also same thing when i was trying to follow along with the terrain underwater.. Any ideas?

Hi Malcolm, Make sure you’ve set the render mode to experimental in the render properties and then you need to add a subdivision modifier, set it to adaptive and then adjust the displacement strength until you are happy with the results. - HF

Question about cliff tiling maps; if the texture we use has directional layering (like the red desert texture used as an example), will it tile correctly over the cliff/slope or will it tile randomly. From what I found out, it tiled only randomly so no terrace/layering can be achieved. Is this correct?

I just got version 4,2 and tried following the tutorial but the menus seem to be somewhat different, and the values don't really react the same. I am having trouble getting the ground textures to behave the same way they do in the tutorial.

Hey Danny, sorry for the delay! Ideally, yes, you would need to make sure that you're using the correct render feature set, however we have now updated the addon so that when you add a material, the subdivision panel at the bottom of that panel now allows you to swap between feature sets. You'll still need to make sure you're in Cycles.

@@ulisesreyes3566 I figured out what the problem was and how to fix it. It's a fairly simple fix. When you choose a material the Texture Size default is 1. I adjusted it up until it looked like what I saw in the video and it worked out very well. The Texture Size is found under Texture Mapping in the Settings menu. He does talk about adjusting the texture size but it's farther along in the video. The add on is pretty amazing and has tons of options. Might be worth trying again 😄

change the displacement midlevel to a higher value, between 0.5 and 1 under the material settings "material displacement' where the only two options are 'scale' and 'midelevel', OR, use the offset option under the scatter settings to lift them up.

I just wanted to follow your tutorial. And I followed a huge amount of english speaking tutorials. Even from indian people with english as second language. But you should not do tutorials. I wasn't able do understand single words and it was like a constant voice sounding like speach. I tired it a frew times. If you want to do tutoraisl, you should be able to tell something with a speaking other people can understand. I just was happy to get a basic True Terrain tutorial and THIS was the result. Wish you very well, but learn speaking. There is a difference between the kind of speaking to your mates and that speaking you need to present if you want other people to understand you.
