Dodgeball and hopscotch!

My friends and I loved riding our bicycles, and roller skating. I grew up long before disco, and we didn't have those fancy roller-rink skates -- just sidewalk skates, which clamped over our shoes (the clamps were tightened with a skate key). We played Potsy (metro New York version of hopscotch). Running through the lawn sprinklers was great, too. A small park down the street had a large, commercial-style swing set, and we liked swinging there. When we were done, we would search the sand underneath the swings for coins that had dropped from previous peoples' pockets. We were all "free range" kids, and nobody really knew where we were throughout the day. But I'll say one thing -- we sure didn't stay out late enough to se the stars come out -- unless we were in our own yards, looking at the fireflies (I never wanted to catch them -- just let them fly free!) Then there were all the non-electronic indoor activities we had when the weather wasn't good enough to be outside. But I guess that's a subject for another video!

@MeowingKittyCat One day my older sister & I shared a pair of those clip on/tie on metal skates. It was my first skinned knee with gravel in it. 😅😅😅😅😅😅😅. It's still funny. & although it freaking hurt, a fun memory

I was always the kid in the neighborhood constantly building clubhouses and tree houses back in the 80s 😋 I even build a couple underground club houses with working fireplaces😁 some of my best childhood memories with my friends.
