2 Little Mice made a deal with CMON but then they departed after a few months. They succeeded in getting back the Household IP but not Broken Compass. That the whole story in short.

Yes, I saw those announcements a few years back... shame it kinda got gobbled up by CMON only to wither away. But hey, at least we got Household and Outgunned out of it!

Sounds amazing! I'll be checking it out and have already shared this video with several of my friends from back in the 80s who ate these sorts of movies up.

I love Outgunned! It has quickly become one of my favorite systems. Great review!

Great Video! The style reminds me of Seth Skorkowsky a lot. It's balanced and fair. OG is my favourite system and has replaced Savage Worlds for me, so I am biased. Although I can't entirely agree with some of them, I can still see your negative points. Luckily OG has "modular crunch," so ignoring specific subsystems, as you suggest for Weak Points or Brawl, is valid and won't break the systems. Which is a big plus for OG for me. For VTT, there are now two complete fan-made Foundry Systems, sheets for Roleapp and Let's Role, and a system for Alchemy. The latter is still in development and will be the only official VTT support at this time.

A really thorough and balanced review (fun and funny too). Your channel deserves to be way more popular!

Thanks for this review. I don't have the core rules, but recently picked up the Outgunned Mission Dossier: Project Medusa to convert for my James Bond 007: RPG.

I've been loving playing this. It's so fast and perfectly captures the action movie vibe. My group has also been playing everyday Heroes for a bit more crunch and longevity. I don't think I could manage a long running campaign of Outgunned, partially because it openly says not to, but also because I think players might get a little bored of it. It seems the perfect game for short spurts.

This was my first intro to your channel! Love it and subbed! Also, “I don’t like it when a game presents multiple mechanical ways to do the same thing” *laughs/cries in Burning Wheel and Aces & Eights*

Hahaha! I'm still grumpy AD&D gave us a half dozen ways to roll ability scores!

Outgunned adventure is maybe why the broken compass one disappeared. Edit: readed the other coment about the thing with CMON. But Outgunned Adventure is BC in the outgunned format

I was a bit let down by Broken Compass that did not convince me and the double punishment of having to buy Outgunned to do what Broken Compass was supposed to deliver. So, Savage Worlds will still keep the top spot for the moment. Liked and subscribed!

Totally get it. I didn’t back Outgunned until the last possible minute because of similar hesitations.

regarding Broken Compass: well, after everyone "one-shotted" it, it was to be expected to fade into oblivion, right?

Are you gonna make some more Outgunned scenarios? I loved Never Forget to Die, and wanted to see if you had any others.

I’ll probably first convert my pulp ones over to Outgunned before I make a brand new one. (They are already in Broken Compass so it shouldn’t be that hard to use them for Outgunned even before I do that.)

Question: is this the type of game where the players make tactical decisions (attempting to optimize mechanical decisions during your turn?) or is the decision making during combat largely just narrative and then the push your luck mechanic?

More the later. You aren’t thinking about choosing maneuvers, spending action points, or making called shots in Outgunned. While there are a few limited use feats, and you can spend adrenaline at some key moments, tactics will largely come from how the GM sets up the scene, vs the game mechanics.

I find action-based games incredibly boring (even the great ones), because they’re a mechanic not a genre (I’m sure plenty disagree) Bu I love the narrative emphasis and chase rules in this review so I’ll be picking it up. Thanks for a great review

I agree, action is definitely more about style and pacing vs. genre. But I always felt a lot of systems didn't work well once you try running a modern game with lots of explosions, gunfights, and chases. The number of D20 based systems where guns did like 1D8 damage and took over a dozen hits to take down a big bad drove me insane...

Sir, @5:20 can we agree on the need for trigger discipline? It is important to keep one's booger hook off the bang switch until it is time to fire. :)
