Good stuff! I put Vortex 1~8 LPVO and Romeo3 RDS on my 556 and 7.62x39 12" pistols this week. Both are on Franklin Armory binary lowers. Need to get them to a range. It's odd: 10 years ago here, Central NC, you could shoot them in your back yard. Now I'm surrounded by half million dollar houses on all the former woods and fields. Have to find a range to shoot further than 100 yards. Very disheartening

12.5 is fine out to 300 yds. Good cqb/backpack barrel length. Now I had an idea for a backpack/3 day kit that would use a 12.5 upper as a fast reaction setup for vehicle use. thoughts?

Hello Honest Outlaw, I really enjoy your videos. I suggest running a K-can like the SureFire 212 mini on the 12.5" build, bringing your overall length to about 15". This way you'll have added accuracy at distance plus the functionality of a suppressor. What do you think?

12.5" - 13.×" are my favorite barrel lengths. If I could only have 1 it would be Centurion 13.7 MIDWEIGHT HF with LPVO and Top Hat 509T. I also love my SOLGW 13.7 with PA 1×ACSS Micro PRISM. Do you not have a rig, with a lpvo and offset.? If not, try one. Edit- Welp, my bad, just got to the very end. Do it. You wont go back. Hell, a designated 4x prism and off set over even a lpvo, shits up and down on a flip magnifier imho. I like lvpos, but honestly, your either 1x or maxX,.. almost never at 2.2x.or what ever. But, sorry for the premature comment boss.

Chris, If your serious about a 45 deg red dot mount, check out Arisaka's option. It's actually a 45 or a 32 (I think) deg mount that has fabric machining tolerances and a real cool way to reverse the base that actually changed the mount offset degree. On my DD right I liked the 32 vs 45 degree angle better.... May be a bit more expensive, but worth every penny!!

That is truly more fun out on the gun range at longer distances it becomes more of a team sport and that's way cool having others around, black power is fun when your timing each other on loading and so on, don't play with large amounts of powder boys and girls your eyebrows and so on will love you, unless you want a tan real quick.

I personally think 12.5 is the perfect ar pistol “do all” self defense gun. The velocity is actually the same as 14.5 (as tested and proven in classic firearms video) but keep it short. I love my 12.5 iwi Zion. U can still reach out far with good velocity at 2800ish fps.
@chaoticcaninejb
Жыл бұрын
It actually isn't in most cases. It depends on barrel and ammo. I get more velocity out of my 10.3 then my 12.5 with one certain type of ammo and same goes for other lengths and loads. It's like a BDC reticle, none of it works or matters until you tested your gun based mostly on barrel and load. Don't ever take one's word no matter how credible it may be. Test and get your own data. Try two same length barrels from different manufacturers and it proves itself 99% of the time.
I built a 11.5 with a PA 1X SLX Micro Prism with green illumination. No magnifier. Hits beautifully out to 300 yrds. Love to see you guys test the PA 1x with 3x magnifier vs the single PA 3x with red dot offset. Great content. Best Regards Cory
