I went straight into cash pay PT! I’d advise anyone with an entrepreneurial mindset to do the same!

Are newly licensed PT’s able to immediately start working with patients in a cash based setting on their own? Is there any issues with direct access/referrals, etc?

How do you feel about PTs with one to two years of experience starting a mobile-based cash-based physical therapy practice?

I wouldn't get to bogged down in how many years of experience you have coming out of school. Your 2 years of experience could have been with a brilliant forward thinking mentor, which would be much better than 4 years at an insurance mill. If you feel you have the competence, and autonomy to work alone then go for it. However, if you are still finding that you frequently need to refer questions back to senior practitioners then maybe you need to grow as a practitioner first.

When is it too late to get into a Residency? I'm 14 years in Practice; but have felt for some time now that I would want the Residency experience.
