Hello friends!! Nature creates the most amazing sounds. Just stop and listen to where you are right now. What do you hear? People? Animals? Weather? Traffic?? The world provides a soundtrack to our everyday lives, so why not sample it and create our own art with it.
Field recordings can be so fun to capture and integrate into your music! I made this quick vid to show just a small example of what these recordings can sound like in a musical context (well, loosely musical). I recorded a short bit of backyard noises; birds, wind, chimes, and the occasional car. I took this and looped it with the Chase Bliss Blooper. With the Blooper’s modifiers and tons of other pedals, this became a living breathing piece of experimental music. So fun!!
Try recording for yourself, I honestly just use my iPhone and can get some quality sounds with little to no added equipment (this was pure iPhone mic). Explore spaces you frequent and you might find something you’ve never heard, or take a recording of somewhere you’ll never go back. Take a piece with you without taking anything.
Hope you enjoy the sounds! Get out there and record! Thanks for watching! Stay creative, stay weird.
