The number of drug overdose deaths in Australia has almost doubled in two decades.
That's according to new data released by the Pennington Institute.
In 2022, drug induced deaths peaked at just over 2,300, with 80 percent being unintentional. CEO of the Pennington Institute John Ryan says that Australia is 'losing people at an extraordinary rate.'
