A short local flight over Mourre Nègre and the valley that slopes down towards the small village of Cabrières-d'Aigues where I live (Provence, France). A 1.5-hour hike from the village with an elevation gain of 700m takes you to the 1100m summit of Mourre Nègre (where the antenna stands). We fly during moderate south winds, rarely in summer. An easy takeoff, but the winds can sometimes become unpredictable.
On this beautiful autumn day, peace and tranquility filled the sky and the pastel colors of the mountain added to the golden light. Several paragliders took advantage of it that day, while I usually fly alone at this unfrequented site. You need to deserve it, both because the challenging climb and the relatively rare conditions required for good flying.
I usually land in a small field just behind the village (the wide-angle video make it look big). You have to pass a few meters above the telephone line and avoid the trees. If you need more landing space (it happened this time), you end up in a field of olive trees.
