FREE hypermobility guide: spreadwhealth....
I am truly grateful for every step along the path that led me to where I am at today. If you’re struggling with chronic pain or hypermobility and aren’t at a point of feeling grateful, that’s okay.
I’m often asked if I’d have had babies if I’d known I had hEDS prior to becoming pregnant. 1000% yes, I would. I love my babies more than anything and I loved the experience of being pregnant, giving birth, breastfeeding, baby wearing, and being a Mom. Dealing with prolapse and reconstructive surgery was very challenging at that time but in hindsight it was such a small hurdle to overcome in exchange for knowing and loving my sweet boys.
hEDS is a spectrum and everyone has a different experience with it. Personally, I’m glad I wasn’t diagnosed when I was younger. Yes, a diagnosis would have answered a lot of questions, but I think it would have induced a lot of fear and a fragility mindset that would have prevented me from creating some of my most cherished memories.
I pushed through a lot of pain and injuries, and although I do believe much of that could’ve been avoided if I’d had the knowledge I do now about movement and strengthening in the context of hypermobility, I’m glad I pushed through it.
I see so many people give up so much in life because of pain. And I get it. It’s exhausting. It hurts. It’s depressing. But don’t let your life pass by without LIVING. There are resources available. If we aren’t your flavor, that’s fine. Find another option. But don’t stop living because of pain. Yes, overcoming chronic pain is challenging, but it can be done!
