Pegged Casings
Without any doubt whatsoever, pegging your casing makes for a massive strength increase.
Normally the pictures & / or Videos around why you should Peg your differential revolve around lots of expensive broken bits that have gone KeeeeeeeerrrFingBANG ...🤣
But
The reason that you peg any casing is to "Hold" the pinion & Crown wheel in Mesh with each other during them being hard loaded and / or overloaded, if not then pinions flec and then teeth can shatter.
Even if they don't actually shatter, they will eventually, as the constant "Climbing" of the pinion away from its mesh with the Crown wheel will cause horrendous wear and damage.
Here is a Y61, which shows what happens when the differential is overloaded enough to nearly make it go bang, but not quite enough, this was I reckon pretty close to the Unit waving a white flag and giving up
Enjoy
