Gap junctions are for animal cells, for plant cells we use the term plasmodesmata.

I use Khan Acadamys videos so much to support my training to be a nurse in Finland and I have to say that, this lecturer make me get things so much better than enyone else. He´s voice and way of speaking and also the sound cuality makes me motivated. it´s in the details. It is how he uses his tone to point out certain things. He´s a natural and I am a fan for sure.

I think the cells can communicate with each other without gaps through the glycoproteins and glycolipids which act as receptor molecules to link two cells but it's not the protein itself

At 0:28 you say plants have gap junctions but I think you mean animal cells have gap junctions and plants have plasmodesmata :)

he kinda corrects himself by saying animal cells about 5 times afterward and one can infer since he is drawing animal cells that he was speaking about animal cells.

Plasmodesmata is a type of communicating juction while gap junction is also a type of communicating juction but it is found in nervous tissues and heart so don't get be confused with gap junction and plasmodesmata as told in this video
