I think clarification on the horizontal vectors for the normal bending for each of the micro units would help; since, the acting force comes from above as the normal stress. Thanks.😊

Fist of all great video, you explained things very well and your animations make it easier to visualize everything. I have a question, What's the difference between Mc/I and -My/I. I seen a few examples that use Sigma a=N/A-MzYa/Iz. It seems like they are finding stress by subtracting bending stress to axial stress. I'm a bit confused with that.

Mc means the maximum distance from the center. My means the y value can change from the center to the maximum r value.

One thing that was confusing me is that my book says shear stress also has a normal complimentary component. So it makes it seems like shear is both transverse and normal.
