Been watching your vids and just wanted to say thumbs up for doing it dude. I’ve often thought of it but then the excuses/day job get in the way… excuses, excuses with 4 printers looking at me idle! That card holder is clearly unique and people wanna buy it… but you need a brand mark that’s gonna make people know it’s yours and where to go to get it. Plus trust it’s the real deal. Just hit me up if u fancy developing one, been in graphics & branding for 15 yrs but just started doing my own thing recently so would enjoy the opportunity?

To help eliminate vibrations if youre using a rack system, dont just set it up. Bolt it into the studs of your walls. Unless you live in a high heavy traffic area, or like I do, next to a railroad. THEN that becomes a redundant system because the vibrations from the traffic, or train will vibrate from your house and into your prints.

I actually just force it with my hand 😅 until it's level. Then I run the z coupler back and forth a few times to let it settle and take my straight edge and measure the left and right sides to make sure the gantry is level.
@henricoderre

@@collect3d Really? My X-axis gantry is always lower on the right side. I also tried forcing the left side of the gantry down a bit, then moving the gantry up and down a few times. When this worked, it was never for very long. If it exists, I'd like to find a more permanent solution to this recurrent problem. Right now, the only solution I can come up with that makes any sense is adding a second lead screw to the right side of the printer. What do you think?

Noice video. E3V2 was my first printer, really lovely printer. For basic prints like what you are printing, it's awesome. But if you start prototyping/tests/etc, you quickly realise that you spend way too much time tweaking the printer than actually printing. That is why I ended selling it and buying a Prusa MK3S+ Prototyping gets to a whole new level. Whatever you send to it is printed with 0% failure rate. Within 3 months owning a Prusa, I printed more than 6 months I had the Ender. V2 uses bowden tube system so you cannot really print anything on it. Coz Prusa is all metal hotend, you can print almost any type of filament or it. Because of the all metal hotend, you can use higher temperature, way faster speed printing reducing the speed final printing time.
@collect3d
2 жыл бұрын
I agree, the E3v2 has some downfalls. But Im going to make it my goal to find all of its quirks and work them out so it can be a workhorse and be as reliable as a prusa! It will take some part replacements and upgrades, but I'll pull back the curtain on whats needed. Thanks for commenting!

Nice advertisement for Prusa bro. Sorry you drank the Kool-Aid and are trying to justify your purchase. I get it, we've all been there. What's even more odd though is you trying to convince someone that's clearly using the Ender 3 v2 without issue, that they need a different printer that cost three times as much just simply because YOU couldn't make YOURS work. I almost bought a prusa. I have the money. But I do lots of research before I make purchases and that's why I ended up with an Ender 3 v2. It's already common knowledge that with just a few upgrades you can get the Ender 3 V2 to print just as good as that Prusa. I've only been printing for 6 months and I mastered my Ender 3 v2 in the first two weeks I had it. Prints pla+, petg, asa perfectly. All I've done is switch to an all-metal hotend, metal extruder and a Capricorn tube ($100 total) and it's been printing flawlessly for months. Besides, I would build a Voron before spending $800 on a Prusa anyway. Edit: By the way, you say the Ender 3v2 is only good for basic prints, not prototyping and whatnot. Well I'm a mechanical engineer, woodworker and metal fabricator. I create dimensionally precise and structurally sound parts for everything I do, everyday on my Ender 3 V2. I'm not sure you're really an authority on the subject.
@dangerous8333
2 жыл бұрын
@@collect3d You're doing it right. Don't listen to him. I mean, he actually mentioned an all metal hotend as a benefit for spending $800 over $300, when you can buy an all-metal hotend for the Ender 3 for $20 and install it in 5 minutes. That says it all about his opinion.
@hakunamatata324
2 жыл бұрын
@@dangerous8333 For what it is worth it, I was always against Prusa until I bought one. I don't have this mentality "100% Prusa". It also has its own issues which required 3D parts and some fights within the community. E3V2 is a lovelly printer but to get it 100% with zero, I said zero failures rate, you will need to upgrade the crappy ouf of it. The endless Z-axis lines, u name it. Still, I would buy it again any time, give it as a gift to somebody any time over any other printer. Sure, you can use it for prototyping without problems but not before adding tweaks to the process. I am building a 3D printer server rack for my network devices. I start the printer and walk away, come back later to start the next and the next and the next. Design things with FreeCAD, print, change measurements, print again and again and again. There is no touching the printer to fix this or that. 3D printing with a Prusa is so boring, I 3D print things with the same practicality I turn on my TV. Your comment is more anger towards Prusa than anything else while mine was a neutral share of experience.
