My college used to have the 2000s horn/strobe version in several of the buildings. They replaced many of the Standard horn/lights and Simplex 4051+4050-80s from when the campus was built in the 1970s. But now it's mostly System Sensor SpectrAlert Advance and L-series horn/strobes, along with one building having Wheelock Exceders. There's a supermarket near said campus that has a couple of the 90s horn/strobe version, along with what looks like Wheelock EH horns on Space Age A32 strobe plates.

My middle school had this model speaker strobes. Had very cool and unique code 3 tone (sounded like pressing #9 on ur phone dial pad) and evacuation message

Nice! I like these devices! Those strobes are huge, much larger than those old A32s.

Those are definitely oldies! I have a few speaker strobes. Two by Edwards/EST, one by Simplex, and one by Siemens. Three are wall-mount and one is ceiling mount. I have yet to figure out the speaker strobe and I do have a few system tests on my channel.

Do you know if the strobe on the VA4 has it's own separate screw terminals from the speaker, or if it is hardwired? I want to convert it into a strobe plate.

Hello from sweden.😄 I saw your video about european callpoints and i just wanted to mention that there are callpoints that dont require changing glass after activated. But i defenently agree with you about the key part.

That's really neat! Do you happen to have a video on how to hook up a speaker strobe to a little amp like that? Or any vids on that tiny amp itself? I'd like to get my speaker strobes to run lol
@FireAlarmDude5967

It’s easy, you just wire them like any other speaker

I just love how they’re similar to the Simplex 4903 series (electronic and mechanical), really cool alarms
