Would definitely like a defenders side of this also, (mind you I'm super new to OW) do you have all of these set ups in custom games? I really want to practice everything, that or how to set up custom games well to practice?
@CloverFour

@@JujuMellivora Yes. The custom game code just allows me to place still heroes, but really all you have to do is reduce Wrecking Ball's grapple cooldown to 0%. Anytime you're waiting in queue or if you just want to practice solely on Wrecking Ball movement, you can save that preset for later use.

This guide's goated. Thanks. I always knew ball would be a hassle to learn but I'm finally putting in the effort and one tricking him until I at least master his grapple. He seems to be all about knocking defensive hitscans off the high ground and forward toward your team so that your team can capitalise on it. The grapple spots that circle around and knock anyone off the high ground will be the most valuable to learn. Hammond doesn't fare too well against brawl heroes or dive heroes. He excels at deleting immobile heroes like ana, baptiste and zenyatta. I've been tearing them up. Lucio and moira on the other hand. They just self heal and run away. I think his playstyle is really simple. Delete all immobile support and damage dealers and then spray the tank to contribute meaningful damage. If you chase the pharah/genji/tracer/reaper/lucio/moira you get nowehere with it if they have supports supporting them.

I really love the New Queen Street final roll out. I'm not using the central high ground rollout though. It's too unreliable if you aren't already super skilled with ball. The map ALWAYS blocks me when I try it and you have to stop and maneuver awkwardly to pull it off. There are no obstacles if you circle left and down main though but I guess the bot might get in the way .

How do I go about practice all these rollouts? Is there a custom game code I need to import or do I just go in and do it myself? I'm lowkey confused on how to switch between maps in custom games
@CloverFour
2 жыл бұрын
In my Aim Guide video, I skimmed over the settings for when you create a custom lobby. (Start at 13:42) kzitem.info/news/bejne/pYZ-039on4N7iYo All you need to do is turn Ball's grapple cooldown time down to 0%. After that, the maps can be adjusted via the map categories found on the home menu. Turn off all the maps by pressing "none," then select your desired map. In terms of practice, you can replicate my grapple spots and/or you can also find new ones. I find most of these by looking at areas where enemies are commonly positioned then try to find a good grapple angle to boop them off, slam, etc. Them, in this case, is just imaginary. Finally, use the long tank queues to practice those grapple spots.

The spawn rollout on Lijiang Market? It still works fine. You might need to swing more like a pendulum rather than a tetherball swinging around the pole. (best way to describe it) Maybe grappling higher too; not sure about the exact shape and boundaries of the invisible walls.

How do you feel about double boop? Is it essential to learn? I can never do it during game scenarios
@CloverFour
Жыл бұрын
The boop is good enough that in most situations, the double boop isn’t required. Overall though, not essential, but it can be an easy kill on maps like Havana pt3 or spawn killing on control maps. Most players, right now, are playing fast heroes, so it makes it tough to pull off.
@davidchang905

Sooo, I'm not even half way in but 90% of the rollouts I've seen are first fight only since you have a few second cooldown when you respawn, any intention of making a video that actually makes use of that timer/incorporates it? I dont wanna sit in spawn for 5 seconds after respawning just to get back "quickly"
@CloverFour
2 жыл бұрын
I will for the defense version of this because that grapple cooldown heavily hinders Ball's ability to contest objectives after respawning and having a maximal efficient route is necessary. On attack however, that 5 seconds delay doesn't matter as much (perhaps for overtime situations). This video is about the *routes* a Ball player could use to then *setup* for an engage; the extra wall jumps and specific grapple spots were extra. Plus, most of the spawn rooms are big enough that it takes 3 seconds just to get out. One example, for the first rollout for Nepal: Sanctum, the initial grapple spot would be casted further than what I showed in the video because of the 5 second delay. That also means you'd have to wait for the cooldown for the following grapple spot. So, use your intuition a bit; I tried using pings to signify specific grapple spots. I hope that cleared things up.

hey, Nice video. But from a Ball onetrickn perspective i can tell you that round about 50% of all grapple spots are useless because you engage in their faces instead of from the back what you always should do. I also try to keep the grapple time as short as possible so u can´t get stuned mid-grapple. Its like rein charge, the shorter the better :D
@CloverFour
Жыл бұрын
I think 50% is a bit hyperbolic, but regardless the reduction of stuns and boops in the game means those front facing rollouts are more likely to succeed. I also agree with the short grapples, but doing any rollout is the antithesis of your point. Thanks for your feedback because I didn't really specify what this video was about, so I'll make sure to be better at that.

@@strombolijones4255All g, I didn't take any offense. Well, you start by heading into the "custom games" tab, then creating a new lobby. Click on "settings" and you'll be introduced with 6 categories; the "maps" one will allow you to switch to different maps and you'll need to restart the lobby every time you change maps; the "heroes" one will allow you to change the stats of each hero, namely the cooldown times. Any significant changes you want to be saved for later can be done by clicking "save presets" found on the right side. Presets can be accessed in, you guessed it, the "presets".

Do you think Ball's core gameplay is viable in OW2?
@CloverFour
Жыл бұрын
I think he's definitely moved into the "specialist tier" of heroes like doom, junkrat, sym, torb, pharah, lucio (to an extent), etc. If you know the basic playstyle really well, then yes. But at masters 5 and above, he'll start to require a flanker to follow up on his dives and non-feeding teammates. In OW1 the off-tank made Ball's playstyle vastly more viable, but yeah, a specialist pick with high duel potential. However, on control maps or areas with environmental hazards, the boop alone can win fights.
