Sorry for any delay in updating the injury status, but wanted to make extra sure that all were healthy before I posted again.
Although these videos I recorded today are my best for seeing their eyes, mine may not show the fine details of the injured owlet's eyelid (still believed to be Petunia). This could also be true because there appeared no definitive evidence today that any one of their eyes were injured just a day ago.
They even showed a degree of fearlessness by going right back to scratching their heads with their sharp talons, and also play fighting with each other using beaks and talons as can be seen in the last clip of this video, which was recorded around 6pm this evening.
Like a human who gets cut near/at site of a blood vessel, sometimes that makes an injury look worse than it is. All of the regular owl watchers I spoke with today also saw no evidence (dried blood, scarring or swollen/misshapen eye structures) in their higher resolution photos upon review.
Additionally, after I left my morning visit to the nest, those who remained messaged me later in afternoon that all three owlets still look healthy throughout the day and they ate when mom Mathilda brought back some food (including a lizard via dad Ricky!) for their lunch.
Now, back to our regular program... Stay tuned for videos on the next phase of the owlet's development: Branching! Happening soon!
