I took brokerage loads for JBH, for 6 years. We were never late. It was a good deal to find loads when we needed to fill in between our loads. We use our own trailers. When some receivers and shippers had excessive detention, like 6-7 hours, they kill the online access to their website and then mark us down as delivered and won't take our calls. Then later say we were not tracking. They use all this tracking for their benefit, as much as possible. We got live loads, then upon delivery had to be dropped instead to waste 3 days time.

Oh wow, that's crazy. I am just hoping to use JB as a fill-in.

Yep, I had this, now building our own customer base too. JB Hunt absolutely refuses to pay detention, they say bill it but never will approve it or pay you...very shitty.

I always spell Hunt with a C. LOL! Thats what they are.

I think you already know how this plays out. And going in early is irrelevant. Hunt trailers make great free storage for customers.

if I’m not mistaken you said you have your own dry van trailer. If so I think you’ll be better off running spot market around the Midwest, cause I believe the rates are about the same.

I don't own a dry van, I do own a hopper bottom. That's why I am trying power only before I buy one.

My son left this crappy company. Tgey would send him to Texas and he’d have to sit with the truck if it wasn’t on a company lot. Up to 3 days without pay. And complain he was using too much air conditioning. In hunts is a horrible company.

After about 8 or 10 years of doing brokered loads for JB Hunt , just the other day they tell me I am no longer eligible to haul loads through them. They offered no information as to why but they say I'm not the only one.

They told me the same after about 2 years of moving trailers for them, they started accusing me of turning my bills early, which was bullshit cuz the factor agency would not pay till the next day, then told me my company had security issues. So I phoned a old school friend of mine who is over the shipping ofone of the biggest chemical companies in the world and explained to her how JB had done me, And She Said “She would never use JB Again “. See how that worked for them

That is crazy?? I just started doing power only 3 weeks ago, I should be careful with them if they did that to you. Thanks for the info.

If you're going to try and make a living off JB Hunt.....you are going to be banging your head against the windshield. Specialized freight or become a company driver....only way to go.

There seems to be more margin in something more specialized.

I just heard that JB hunt is laying off drivers. Is that True?

I am not sure, but I did hear that. You would think they would cut me as a power only before them unless I am working to cheap. HMM??

Dude , I had to deal with same crap in 1990s with ComTrans but I had to sit near a fkn pay phone for 2 days waiting for some dispatcher to come in on Mon at 8 am to find a load. Wonder why they went bankrupt in 93 ? At that time JB was all Coe and drivers were making more as a company driver than Oo.

Don’t go to job hunt for a job! You’ll give 10 days of time for 4 days pay. Guarding the truck is free, you get nothing.

Thanks for sharing, see real quick about leasing on to another carrier if possible. JB is a time waster. Go give Landstar a shot or a better small carrier that uses owner operators

Never pulled a dry van but in the reefer game if it's JIT.. THERE ISN'T ANY OF THAT NONSENSE AND RIDICULOUSNESS OF I'LL GET TO IT WHEN I GET TO IT.. good luck I hope things turn around.. but the likelihood of that happening probably isn't in your favor unfortunately
