This video sum's up what i do every weekday with my trusted Town 9 2015 edition, it's my time saver.. no need to wait for a bus. At the moment Decathlon (Surrey Quays) are letting customers trial the Oxelo Town 9 for free for 48 hours . I never leave home without mine on a weekday.

I'm thinking to buy a scooter, oxela town 7xl to ride from Barbican to Whitechapel, however, I'm not sure if the distance is too big as it appears to be 1.7 miles on google map :/ Its a 40 minutes walk and I'm guessing its around 20 minutes with a scooter? I already own a foldable bike but I really hate carrying it around, even if it's foldable it's still annoying to other tube participants. Also, an electric scooter is not an option. What do you guys think about this distance? too much for a kick scooter? Any recommendation would be greatly appreciated, tips and hints as well.

If the ground is flat then 1.7 miles is very easy on a push scooter. The maximum distance I am prepared to scoot is 3 miles. You will save so much money in taxi fares and do your journeys in about a third of the time. One word of warning though - be careful during wet weather as the wet makes the plastic wheels more slippery on wet surfaces and the braking much harder as you need time to slow down and stop in the wet. Otherwise its a fun ride and easily to fold away your scooter when you get to work. My favourite scooter is the Razor A6 - the bigger wheels make it about 20 per cent more efficient for speed and distance travelled. Worth checking out. Good luck

@shaunbarnett2972

Caim, Yes it is absolutely possible to reach 25km/hr and well beyond that, if you are an experienced rider. I have travelled at speeds over 50km/hr (downhill) on a regular basis in the area where I live, which is very hilly. Of course the speed you can achieve depends on the surface you're scooting on and how steep it is. On a flat stretch, if you are fit, you can travel at around 25km/hr consistently. For higher speeds you want high rebound wheels at least 120mm in diameter.
@shaunbarnett2972

@@rettenthetetlen8759 You don't know what you're talking about. Walking speed for a fit person is around 7km/hr. And on a flat stretch it is entirely possible to do 4X walking speed on a skateboard or scooter if you are fit enough. I've tested this myself. And downhill on a typical pro scooter I have regularly clocked over 50km/hr.

Why can't we have the click in the UK, what's stopping the govt from allowing us to have what all the other EU countries and the USA can have?
@flitsies
7 жыл бұрын
Or more like the people would have these things but the govt won't allow us the right to use them. Remember the goped type scooter, brilliant idea outlawed by the govt. The electric bike, restricted to 15.5 mph almost useless. So it's not the people as many would and did buy these things it's the govt who probably fear the loss of revenue if people use these they won't use their cars, note the govt is still giving away tax payers money for people to buy new cars, yes Cars, where is the sense in that?
@flitsies

Yep kick scooters are great, I also have an electric scooter but again, in the UK to use it I have had to register it as a moped, think about that for a moment, this electric scooter can just about reach 20 mph, i'm not allowed to use bicycle lanes, I have to register it as a moped, I have to insure it, and it will need an mot and though the road tax is free, it still needs to be taxed. Oh and you have to have a motorcycle/moped license to ride it and wear a motorcycle grade helmet. My electric bicycle goes up to 15.5 mph but in the USA the same bike reaches 25 mph, but when I pedal I get over 20 which is faster than my electric scooter, so why do I need all that guff just to ride my electric scooter? Simple the law in the UK says, because it doesn't have pedals, it doesn't conform to bicycle law and as such therefore must be a moped, how crazy is that? Even those kids hover board things that you see with the lights on, under UK law are illegal and must be registered as mopeds. It's UK law that is in the wrong not the people, I would happily give up my car and motorcycle for most rides in London just for some sensible law changes.

If you are phisycally able you don't need an electric scooter. This one is so good that it runs by itself on every mild slope (3...5 degrees).
@flitsies
7 жыл бұрын
Yes this one is good but no you may still want an electric scooter even if you are fit healthy and able bodied. There are many people who are fit and able bodied who drive cars and ride motorcycles, some even ride electric bikes and the bus. Also those that aren't so fit or able bodied may want to make use of electric scooters and electric bikes as a means of getting away from their gas guzzling cars but are denied that option, and all because the govt bans them. You see quite a few of them on the roads and pavements but all are illegal, if not for the amount of work the police have on their hands i'm sure they would quite happily get a few brownie points by not only handing out tickets but handing over a few motoring bans for riding unlicensed mopeds because under the law that is exactly what they are doing. So many people just want the option, and why shouldn't they have that option? There are so many things coming on the market but in the UK we are denied the opportunity to make use of them, but the govt puts ever increasing demands on the public to help reduce pollution, well how the hell we gonna do that if everything we want to help us do that is banned? Sensible controls, ie a max speed restriction on pavements of 5 mph and make it always the fault of the rider as it is the pavement, they must take care. On the roads a max speed of 20 mph but also allow them to make use of the cycle lanes to reduce the amount of road or pavement use. Pavements should be for pedestrians and they must have right of way, so any shared use should be the responsibility of the vehicle user to take extra care thus the vehicle user must be held to account.

This rice cooker is perfect! I use it only for me kzitem.infoUgkxviiltW7NlHbp_VL_bLbIkbLAvILVhnia and sometimes me and my friend so the small size is really great for counter space since we never need to make all that much. I have been using it now for about 2 months and it still works perfectly. I use it for both rice and vegetables (better for harder vegetables like green beans and carrots, it made my broccoli way too smoosh-y for my taste). It keeps your rice on keep warm automatically which I really like, and I’ve used a few of the settings, flash rice, white rice, brown rice, and steam, and they all work super well for me, although I don’t like smooshy rice so I’ll usually use flash rice. It’s super easy to clean either in dishwasher or hand wash, and it’s pretty easy to get rice out of the grooves by where the container comes out. I assume this one will last me a long time but if I ever need another I will definitely be getting this one again!
