@jdbeier8520
3 жыл бұрын
No, when somebody has the issues that Ben has and Ruth is unable to help him with she put him at higher risk taking him out of protected situation. If you love somebody it's also good to want to protect them. When my loved one was going through relapse after overdosing begging and sobbing to be released, did I not love them because I didn't release them. Or did I think they are probably getting the help they need here help I can't provide and now they are healthy and sober for 10+ years.
@filmgeekstudios4393
3 жыл бұрын
@@jdbeier8520 That wasn't my point, and I'm sorry if it wasn't clear. I had the opposite experience. I had overdosed and suffered a psychotic break, and I was in an involuntary psychiatric hold at a hospital. My girlfriend came every day and raised hell for them to let me out. I got home after regaining a bit of sanity (though not most of it) and I IMMEDIATELY, that night, relapsed. Had my girlfriend left me there, it would have been better for me. But my sobbing broke her down, and she got me out. What you did was the logical, correct response based on what your relationship was, and because of that they benefited. My point was that love makes you do stupid shit, and sometimes we hope for the best against all logic because we don't know how to handle things. Did my girl fuck up by letting me out? Definitely. Can I blame her for having an emotional reaction to a bad situation? Nope. She was hurting for me, and she helped me in a way she thought I needed help, even though it was incorrect. Leaving Ben there was the safest, smartest thing to do. But I can't blame Ruth for not being strong enough to do that, especially when he was put there by evil people for calling them out on being evil. Love blinds us sometimes, and we fuck up.
@Ispeakthetruthify
3 жыл бұрын
Well Ruth was a 19 year old teenage girl, who was probably in love for the first time. She was would jump into a fire if she thought it would help Ben. The real question is: Why isn't anyone(Wendy/Marty) saying anything about a damn near 40 year old man, starting a romantic relationship with a 19 year old girl? Add to this that Wendy and Marty know he has a mental illness, and that Ruth is working for them in their illegal dealings. Allowing this relationship to happen...is probably the most unrealistic aspect of this show.

People be like “oh poor Ben” when doing shit like this almost got the entire family killed. Same as Jonah in season 4 none of them care that their actions will make things even worse.

This woman, Wendy gets worse every day! First, she made Jim Carrey snap. Then, she threatens someone's family. Now, she's pretending to be the victim. SHE'S A MENACE! MENACE I SAY!!!!!! 😡

I'd have probably off'd him too. Just because he's her brother doesn't mean any of what they did was his business. He should have just fucked off when he had the chance. Instead he's all blowing up over what happened to Marty's old partner who he didn't even know and Ruth's dad, who he also didn't know and her just screwed once. I'd have spiked his drink with tranqs and shipped him in a crate to Alaska with some cash.

Fair enough, honestly if Wendy was smart she would have done that and then sent him to a mental hospital. To deal with Helens rage, she could have communicated with her kids that Erin needs to reconcile with her mother and for them to speak with her. To keep Ben quiet Wendy could provide the relevant information stating that he's a danger to society to Helen so she can hang it over his head and have him know that they he can't talk about their business unless he wants to go to a state hospital again. Wendy should have been super super pissed and educated Ruth on his condition further than the surface details. Ruth is so love sick that she can cure Ben without his meds and how naive that is.
