Nelson has killed so many people, he got cocky. He never took any of those precautions with anyone (even with the people he's killed in the show) because it didn't matter, they either didn't see him coming, were unlikely unarmed and were helpless to fight back. This time his almost would-be victim was prepared and it was so dark and the rain blocked his vision from seeing her on the rooftop. He also didn't know Ruth would be smart enough to jump to the conclusion he'd be coming for her. There's no such thing as a rookie mistake, in Nelson's line of work; you will die nevertheless, rival cartel or outlier (as we see).

Interesting how earlier in the show, Nelson spoke to the shrink about a problem he had with his "dog". But it really was Nelson who was the dog in the show that only listened to his master's voice. And in the end he got taken down like a wild animal, or in other words - like a dog.

Just noticed a flaw, at 2:31 she ejects the round she fired at him. At 2:39 she does it again which would have ejected a live round. Also love it at 2:58 when she is standing over him with the rifle pointed down looking like an assassin.

rather than a flaw i think this can just be attributed to the way they cut the scene, while we see her actually eject the first spent round, it cuts before she puts the next round in, so its hard to tell if its meant to be her cycling it twice under stress, or just doing it once.

So we're just gonna ignore the fact that he had no reason to be going after Ruth at all? Camilla didn't knew it was Ruth who killed her son at the time, and Rachel agreed to keep laundering after Nelson threatened her. Season 4 was a mess.

Lol! All the comments talking about him just driving right up with no tactical strategy for a “seasoned hitman” He did the same thing going to Ruth’s trailer looking for Wendy’s brother. He’s just a trigger man for the cartel, nothing more. The show doesn’t try to make him out to be nothing more. And that’s a good thing. Adds realism in my opinion.

love the show, but the one thing that sticks out as a repeated unlikely occurrence is the fact that these cartel ops travel around and go to do all these hits completely alone. most of Nelson's kills were by himself. considering I know the ins and outs or cartel procedures, I know that is super unlikely that any cartel hit men would be doing all that dirt completely by themselves. show started off with them coming through heavy and with a crew. maintained it for a little while, but only when something big or dramatic is happening/about to happen that they use like a full cartel crew. just wanted to point it out. Salud

That’s a good point but I remember there being three guys kidnapping Marty in season 3. Nelson is supposed to be a stealthy trigger man and it looks like he’s well respected in the cartel and heavily relied on which is why he specifically focuses on the byrdes and I think they also don’t want to waste people because del and the other guy from season 1 were both killed off so fast. I think their resolution to that was Nelson.
@gdog2157
Жыл бұрын
@@txvuniverse good point. Could be that the cartel decided Nelson would be sufficient enough to handle everything that comes with the Byrdes, alone. Other times Nelson would be with groups as well. But the scene with Marty getting kidnapped, kind of goes into what I was saying about they wait until big moments or dramatic scenes with something heavy going on (that obviously involves the cartel some way or another) to bring out the cartel crews. Idk, just seemed like an inconsistency to me. I'm the guy that points out everything wrong with a scene or show or movie, if u can't tell lol. Probably focus on the inaccuracies of a show or movie more than the plot.

@@gdog2157 Honestly sometimes its good to have questions and be a bit nit-picky of shows of this calibre...Ofc there's always a limit to that lol. But you bring up good points, and I do think the person who replied to you is partially right. I mean Nelson was probably issued for every low-effort hit to save time and resources, which makes sense but even for the 'easy' hit-outs the Cartel and even other criminal organizations have at least 2 guys to carry them out. So yeah, your line of questioning is warranted.

People complain about this death but it makes total sense, Nelson is expecting someone who has no idea he’s coming, an unsuspecting target, so he has no reason to suspect he’s in any danger when gets there, she got the jump on him and in these situations that’s the difference between life and death
