it's craft and art blended, but I know what you mean. Parts of it like the finish involve paint, and last time I checked artists use that stuff too. If course, what passes for "art" today....I can understand why some would object to that term being associated with this man's work. No this is definitely not a just a "pile of bricks" in the middle of a gallery floor, for one of the "least offensive" examples!!! …….The fine artists of old, certainly yes!!

Greetings from Latvia! one of my grandfathers was a red army soldier from Pskov (Russia), he stormed nazi positions in Prague, after his mission was complete he was sent to Latvia ( 1944 courland pocket ) he was the artillery squad or batalion commander, germans made an ambush and killed 2 of his friends and they wanted to take him alive so they surrounded him but he tried to take some germans with him and threw some grenades at them and when he tried to back off the shrapnel got in his back BUT other soviets were not far away so they arrived just in the moment and eliminated those nazis and saved him, he was sent to the hospital where he found my grandmother. He actually lived almost til year of 2000 but with shrapnel in his back ( his last years were terrible he lost all the memory, got paralyzed),

If I may humbly make a suggestion: the plexiglass of the canopy could use a little "distressing" IMO. Perhaps it is but doesn't show in the pictures. Beautiful as always. I'm astonished to see how many products are now available to model builders. When I was at it in the late 50's and early 60's paints and tools were very basic or non-existent.
