Kharwas is a traditional Indian dessert made primary form colostrum milk, which is the first milk produced by cow or buffaloes after giving birth. It has a soft pudding-like texture and is mildly sweet. The dish is commonly flavoured with ingredients like cardamom, saffron, and jaggery or sugar.
Kharwas is popular in the western parts of India, particular in Maharashtra also Chhattisgarh, and is known for its high nutritional value because colostrum is rich in proteins, vaitmins, and antibodies. It is usually steamed sweets
Ingredients
1. colostrum milk - 500 ml ( Cheek or Beasting)
2. Regular milk - 1 ltr ( to dilute the colostrum milk)
3. Jagger y or sugar - 300 gram
4. Cardamom powder - 1/4 teaspoon
5. Saffron thread - a few ( optional for flavour or colour)
5. Desiccated coconut - 50 gram
