@HomegrownHowTo

If this is the only code replace this part. It’ll save you hundreds. If you have other codes associated you could have a bigger problem. Not sure why the car is going dead, take it to a local auto parts store and they can test your battery and what not.

Hey I know this is an old video but its worth a shot. I’m thinking about doing this repair for my 2010 Equinox, I saw other guides and its the same process for the same error code. I have a 2011 chev equinox. Had this replaced at the shop and the code came back on. I'm on top of my oil as this car has an oil consumption recall. I still experience stalling and my engine light comes off an on. Is it the timing chain? Or is it just sludge? Had a oil flush done recently too.
@HomegrownHowTo
2 жыл бұрын
It’s hard to say for sure. Do you know if the new solenoid is an AC Delco? Any electrical parts that you have replaced you want to make sure they are AC delco- OEM parts. Any aftermarket part I’ve put on this vehicle has caused stalling, or the CEL to come back on.

@@HomegrownHowTo Same thing is happening to me. I had the P0011 code and got it fixed once in 2020, was perfectly fine, then 2021 engine light comes on again for same issue, the intake camshaft replaced again but the code continues to come on. My mechanic has changed the oil, the filter, etc. He said go to dealership and get it diagnosed possibly can be the timing chain. IDK, hope its not

Check the cam position sensors also. They probably aren't bad but just covered in gunk and sludge and need to be cleaned off to read correctly. They are a little more difficult to get at than the solenoids though.

@HomegrownHowTo
2 жыл бұрын
If the only issue with the car is it has this code, the thing you should worry about is your mechanic. Order the part yourself and install it. Seriously, super easy job. If you do it make sure it’s an AC delco brand part because aftermarket parts don’t work well in this vehicle- no matter what a parts store will tell you.
@webshootah777

I just did the codes today and this is what I got Poo11, 13, 14, 16 Also got a p2280 but that may be my fault, I took it off and shot air in to see if it would start. It may not be on tight as I did it by hand..... And also today my buddy who gave me a ride from work tapped the tank on both sides and it sounded like it was gonna crank but we shut it off.
@HomegrownHowTo
2 жыл бұрын
@@webshootah777 my advise is make sure there is no short in the wires to the sensors. Otherwise try replacing both, the intake and exhaust solenoids. If the vehicle is running rough and stalling you may need to replace the cam phasers and get a new timing chain kit- which does involve tearing into the engine. These cars are notorious for timing chain issues, as well. Hope that helps- good luck, my friend.

It could be a number of things. But other than changing your oil (if your oil is old and dirty) replacing these sensors is the easiest/cheapest option.
