I never get to comment this early. Over here in southern michigan we were without power for 4 day's from an ice storm, which took so many tree's down it looks like a tornado hit the place. I thank G-d my house wasn't damaged, because a lot of people had their roofs caved in, and vehicle's smashed. You gotta love the weather manipulation. Good to see a video Warren, been a rough week.

Gotta Love engineers. Lets start making bearings without locator tangs. They have made them with tangs for 75 years and it may save us a couple cents on the manufacturing side. Bearing crush in the housing will diminish after a lot of miles then they may spin. JMO

The huge ship engines use the same principle (that you used with the screw) to push main bearings out of the block, of course, there is more room, so they actually provide a dowel type pin ..... much more energy is needed to turn the crank ! Thanks for explaining your process.

Your 100% correct about the conrod orientation the bolts go in from the camshaft side ..I have actually taken pistons out today ..It is in the manual ..If they go on to RMI use the chassis number to id the vehicle ,if they then type in piston ,go in to workshop procedure and scroll down there is a lovely drawing

Hey Warren been watching your videos for a long time now. Just recently subscribe to your channel. I thought the sheet metal screw to roll the main out was a pretty slick deal. Never seen that before , what I have used for years is actually a cotter key that fits in the oiler hole of the crank with the eye end inserted in the hole and bend over one side of the cotter key cut it to length short to push against the bearing half and cut the other side totally off leaving it straight at the height of the one you bend over to catch the bearing or just below the oiler hole in the crank. Works very well , I've used this method on various engines over the years. Some manufacturers do have a main bearing tool available that I have used for years as well particularly on Waukesha engines that I have used on Cats as well. Keep up the hard work and fighting the fight Man. I appreciate your work and your efforts of putting these videos/information out there to help others. Thanks Jesse in Northeast Texas.

Volvo used Bendix and Bosch ABS.You have to use the proper wheel speed sensor.Loose wheel bearings will give problems.I have found tone rings plugged with brake drum steel filings giving code issues.A bent tone ring will set codes.

I was taught to use a cotter pin, put it in a vise an smash the eye head flat but at an angle to match the drilling in the crank. Depends on the size of the engine, but even a small automotive application you have at least a 1/4” flat width pushing against the end of the bearing. So it is not just one point of the round screw head hitting the bearing. And a cotter pin is softer than a metal screw.

, I guess the million-dollar question is with this big fancy kit. At what point do you feel the parts you're adding will extend the life of an inframe rebuild as compared to a less comprehensive kit. Meaning if you were to reuse the old pushrods that are 20 years old or 30 years old and possibly better steal than something made today with the old ones last longer even though they have a million 2 miles

If the rods are not serviceable parts then they shouldn't be selling reman rods. It seems like the paccar mx series of engines have matured into a pretty reliable product. I have numerous friends with over a million miles on mx13 engines. There has been talk of a mx15 engine which is supposed to be released this year.
