This just shows how brilliant a composer Johann Pachelbel was so that someone equally as brillant could reinterpret the piece 300+ years later. Bravo Moyun! Bravo!

"Yi Ru" is very attentive and very caring! 👏👏👏 Introduction to the author of the modern version of Canon: 300 years ago, there was a German named Pachelbel. When he was 10 years old, the war made him an orphan; he wandered to England, and was adopted by a luthier who played the piano in the church every day in a small village in England. Listening to that luthier playing the piano every day, I also learned the piano under my influence. "Pachelbel's Canon" (Pachelbel's Canon) is the most famous work of the German composer Johann Pachelbel in the Baroque period, from his "Canon and Giger in D Major, for 3 Violins and Bass Concert" (German: Kanon und Gigue in D-Dur für drei Violinen und Basso Continuo). Because it is the most famous Canon music, it is sometimes referred to as "Canon". However, in fact, Canon is not the title of the song, but a form of the song. Canon in D major (English) Kanon und Gigue in D-Dur (German) Johann Pachelbel Chinese name of the work Canon and Giger in D major ~~~~ Canon is a music composing technique, and like fugue, it is one of the writing techniques of polyphonic music, and it is also an imitation technique using counterpoint. Canon also refers to musical works created with this technique, such as Bach's "Five Canon Variations" (corresponding to five zithers). Although all the voices of the canon imitate one voice, the voices of different heights enter at certain intervals, resulting in a continuous effect one after another. The round singing is also a kind of canon. In Canon, the first melody to appear is the lead sentence, and the answer sentence is imitated later. According to the interval difference of the different voice parts, it can be divided into canon of the same degree, canon of the fifth degree, canon of the fourth degree, etc.; Transposition Canon, Retrograde Canon, Reverse Canon and other techniques. Canon (meaning round singing) originated in Germany and France, and appeared in the 12th and 14th centuries. The name of Canon was originally "caccia" and "clnon" in Old French, so it is generally believed that its title comes from Old French, meaning "to rely on". (This statement is doubtful. The relevant entry on the English Wikipedia says that "canon" in Old French means "learned"-learned, academic. It is suspected that learned was written as leaned by mistake, and leaned means "to rely on".) (The old French "canon" comes from the German "kanon", which means "law, law", so it is generally believed that the original meaning of Canon is "law".) Canon ushered in its golden age from the first half of the 15th century to the middle of the 16th century (the period of the Netherland School).
I really love the guzheng, to me its as if someone took a piano, opened it up and laid it on its side (like a grand piano) and directly accessed the strings to play. The level of skill, knowledge, and artistry of this young lady is just astounding! Such a beautiful blending of classical western style mixed with classical eastern style. 🥰🥰🥰 I really love guzheng anyway, especially in the Cdramas, the deep, haunting tones~ that drawn out sort of twang that really seems to personify a feeling and clarify a moment. Although I have compared it to a piano in a way, there is really nothing quite like it in terms of tonality and the depth. While it's true that the bass, viola, etc can reach and draw out the tones for depth, those instruments can't quite get the same emotive twang or ripple between notes. Pipa and erhu can get the twang sort of, but not the depth. Guzheng is in a class all its own!

I’m always amazed at how much must go into arranging a complex, multi-instrument original piece to condense it and extract the key parts for a single player to play like this. Her Hotel California and others as well - the arrangement takes as much skill as the playing! Is it me, or does she have just a few hints of the styling of George Winston’s version of this piece (“Variations on Canon in D”)?

True. Pachelbel was from the baroque period, and his music was played faster than during the following classical period. Nowadays canon is being played in slow classical tune, which is still incredible. But I really do enjoy the rock canon version which is closer to how the original canon is supposed to be played. Classical canon will put you to sleep with a smile but rock canon will excite you to start doing stuff.

Beautifully done: the music, the soft tones, the lady's features, the gown, the colours. Transcribing from west to east music is not easily accomplished: there is always a loss of essence - but here, a new essence is created. Plus, this transcription is from heptatonic scored to pentatonic scored, without losing the tonal and chord progressions. (meaning, she uses 5 notes to create the sound of 7 notes) Plus, this is a solo performance. Most remarkable. The young lady deserves very much more world attention. I'm a fan now.
