Nice review thanks guys. We once had an obstructed ocean view room on the old Pacific Aria. It was so obstructed that even if we were contortionists not even the smallest glimpse of the ocean could be seen. You had a panoramic view by comparison with us.

Another good video, thank you for sharing this type of room. I was wondering what that space was for. I thought it was for the hand towel, haha. I always have a tissue box in my bathroom. I just sat it on the counter which wasn't enough room & got a little wet from using the tap. The small under cabinet "fridge" never cooled our drinks enough for our liking. Also, the door was attached to the cabinet & couldn't be separated. The top of the cabinet was warm, so I do not recommend putting food items on there.

Hi Rob and Ali Thanks so much for all of the reviews that you post. I watch them over and over again. Im really happy that you have chosen a ocean view room as my husband has asked me to book this type for our next cruise and I was a little worried it would feel too closed in for me so Im looking forward to your final review on the room.Last Sept we went on the Coral Princess and I found the princess seems to have alot more for free food wise etc.I am now looking forward to watching your papua new g and might book this as well. I love your tours onshore as it has given us ideas of what we can do. I did watch another you tube person overseas and came across you pair by mistake and have now swapped to you only as we are also in QLD. Thanks again , you really look into everything which is appreciated and Im in awe at how outgoing you both are and will give everything a go such ,especially onshore. Looking forward to another round of your on board tours of this ship and tours, thanks Regards Sue

Hi Sue. Thanks so much for your comment and support. Sorry for the delay in replying but we are just so busy with work and family. We do try to reply to every comment though. We absolutely loved the PNG trip and will definitely be looking to do that one again sometime. We still have videos from Rabaul, Kiriwina and Conflict Island to edit and post so, hopefully they will give you some idea of what to do. Please feel free to message us if you need anything else. Enjoy your next cruise. We're looking at something a little extrvagant for next year but are a little nervous about it right now.

I stayed in this cabin last march. Had problem with temp valve, but stewards organised for it to be fixed. That sensor light was a pain - always having to dance under it to keep it lit 😂😂😂😂 Overall though a great cabin 👌😎

Hi Sue. Sorry for the delay in replying, we've been swamped and so busy at work. Thanks once again, we are looking at these for a future cruise as there is so much more space with the living area.

Enjoying your comments, we were on the same cruise Deck 9 Port side and we could feel the engine vibrating but by the second night we had gotten used to it.

Thanks Andrew and sorry for the delay in replying. It's a bit like living next to a railway line. People coming into your house for the first time notice it but you don't even know it's there.

We had our cupboard door to the fridge open and it really does work a treat to get a cooler fridge. Interesting that we were in 12750 porthole cabin and we had a different furniture configuration. Our fridge + bar area was beside our desk which was opposite our bed. The beds were positioned under the porthole. So I guess our whole cabin was configured lengthwise rather than widthwise. I think yours gives more floor space.

Hi Megan. It really does work, doesn't it. We did the same on our recent 3 night comedy cruise and I got a can of Solo out for lunch and couldn't hold it it was so cold. Had to wrap it in a napkin.

I actually don’t think that obstruction is that bad really. I mean you can still very clearly see through to the ocean, which is great. Well worth the saving I think.

Hi Fiona. The obstruction is actually fine. We have just got back from a 3 night comedy cruise and had the exact same cabin on the opposite side of the ship. In the video we say that this is a great way to have a cabin with light in without paying full OV prices. Would definitely do it again. In fact we have booked an inside cabin for the 80s cruise in September and have bid for an upgrade to OV, minimum bid but we are hoping that we will get one of these cabins in the upgrade bid.

Great tour, thank you. We are taking our two grandkids 15 and 13 on the Pacific Encounter in September 😮 and they would like to know if there is free🍦🍦on board. I don’t think so because last time they cost us a fortune 😂😂😂😂

Hi Linda, Sorry but there is no free ice cream on the P&O ships. However, the New Zealand Naturals is fantastic ice cream so maybe treat them to one a day, maybe? We went on Carnival Luminosa where there is free ice cream and to be fair it should have been free because you wouldn't want to pay for it. On Encounter you would be happy to pay for it.

@@robandalicruisetravel Thank goodness there is no free ice cream or they’d be eating it all day 😂😂. I love your videos and the tip about the packing cubes is great - I’m off to buy some today. Where to next?

Thanks for the little tour, I love it! I'm considering taking a 12 day cruise with my family but I'm still not sure if we will enjoy it. It will be our first time and it is just in budget, so probably we can't afford extra activities. I would like to ask you, is the current fare of the cruise enjoyable? or do I have to spend money inside to have activities to do during the cruising days? also, do you have any recommendations for me? I'll really appreciate your comments ❤

Hi Paola. Apologies for the delay in replying. Most activities on board are included, such as the trivia quizzes, seminars, shows, karaoke, competitions and many others. Bingo and some of the crafts like earring making are additional cost but they are optional. There is plenty of included dining including foodcourt style with different tastes, sit down dining, asian and italian cuisine. Again, there are specialty restaurants like steak and pizza but these are optional. You don't really need to eat there, just if you want a treat. Also, on board there are several pools, lots of sunbeds and 2 water slides. There is the Edge Adventure pass which includes things like flying fox and rock climbing but this is optional and probably not necessary In short, you could go on a cruise and not need to spend anything more than just your drinks. We very rarely spend anything other than drinks and there is much more to do than we can actually fit in. We have some of the daily activity programs on our website - robandali.net. Check these out to see if these are the sort of things you are looking for. Hpe this helps but if there's anything more you need to know we are more than happy to answer your questions.

That's actually not as obstructed as I was expecting on a slightly older ship - I bet you get plenty of daylight during the day in there!

Hi Fraser. It wasn't bad at all actually. Funny story, we were back on the Encounter for a 3 night comedy cruise last weekend and took the girls. We were in guaranteed category so didn't have the cabin details until a few days before. The girls were allocated this cabin and we had the one in the exact same position on the other side of the ship. Their steward recognised us immediately by name and seemed so happy to see us. We had no complaints about getting the same cabin on the other side of the ship and in our cabin tour (yet to be edited) we said that this is a great in between of inside and oceanview at less than the cost of an oceanview. We have an inside cabin on the next trip but are going to put in minimal bid for upgarde to Oceanview and won't complain if we get one of these again.
