This way to pace in a bike race is a technique that I have used with success in timetrials in North America and Europe. Except for the ones I raced before I learned the strategy. Those ones I pretty much just exploded.
I've created this video to share these cycling tips with my Race Across America teammates. (Our team is called Team One Mile). We're all eager to ride, and some of us are anxious to see if our training over the past 6-12 months will pay off. This energy saving strategy will prevent us from going too far into the red zone from the beginning, and running only on fumes too early in the cycling race.
