I had 54 Super Clipper years back that I put an Edelbrock 600 cfm manual choke on. Had to do the same thing you did by grinding the corner off the adapter plate and I had to retap a bolt hole. Ran pretty good but I think the 600 was a little too much for it. Unfortunately never did anything with the car. It was a mess. Floor was held together by hope. No front seats. The engine and drive train were in great shape. Gave it to a guy in the neighborhood who was interested in it. He was going to do a 350 swap but I think he passed away. I believe it's still sitting on his property. Hope someone else can rescue it and keep the original drive train.

I've actually been waiting for someone to do a video exactly on this subject. All the Packard videos I've seen have the owner always trying to resurrect a single barrel Carter. About time someone did the right thing to increase performance and reliability. Good for you.

FYI, the last couple years of the Packard came with a four bbl. carb. It was a small-bore carb with mechanical secondaries.

First of all I love the car. It is awesome, a great project. It seems that the accelorator pump linkage adjustment is a bit restarded as the engine sort of falls on it's face when you push the accelorator. Just a by stander's guess. I love what you are doing to the car.

That's pretty trick man I like that. You think it made any difference performance wise over the ole twoBarrel? Nice car too , really makes me want to get an old flathead project car myself.

Put the fuel filter between the tank and the pump.
