Fabulous ! What a history that instrument must have.

Beautiful old organ and the playing was suburb. I just love sacred music played on an organ. I am a confessional Lutheran and grew up listening to this marvelous music.

Very beautiful sound, especially with the pedals. I think most reed organs with full pedal boards, like this one, have two manuals, also, this must now have electric supplied air, although I think I see the pumping handle on the right move a little bit. This is very beautiful. Thank you for playing and posting.

I believe that's actually a velvet cordon, not anything connected to the organ.

I'm assuming you retrofitted the harmonium with an electric pump as you're using the key pedals. That must have been quite the job! 👍

Where on earth or what other planet, did you get that!? Its incredible, what kind of stops does it have? 😮

@@OliverParker-r4d The instrument was to be disposed of in a church - it was completely broken and a ruin - but a historically committed organ builder saved the harmonium from being disposed of - I carefully restored it and was amazed at the radiant sound it has - this model has a total of 5 sets of reeds in the manual and 1 reed set in the pedal (16').

You don't often see a harmonium with organ pedals!

I forgot to write, is this a European harmonium or American. If European, does it blow air into the reeds, whereas in America I think it is sucked in.

Dear JLHoopes1 it is an American suction wind harmonium from the "Packard Organ Company" brand - that's why it has such a radiant power in its sound - I love this instrument

that is an amazing reed organ! Packard made the best sounding American instruments imo. Outstanding job on your restoration. That is very beautiful and unique. A true growler😊

American organs are not called harmoniums. There is a technical distinction between harmoniums and American Organs, most obviously the way the reeds are sounded. Harmoniums force air through the reeds whereas American organs suck the air through the reeds. Since this is a Packard organ, it is obviously not a harmonium. It was manufactured in the US.

@@christianhauf2018 We salute you on getting it done and saving an extraordinary specimen. I've been a reed organ FREAK all my long life, since before I ever saw or heard one for the first time. It pains me to think how many of them get thrown out every year or turned into desks.

Fantastisch!
